Holistics

Took Sawyer to a Holistic doctor today. Kinda strange but I am praying he can help my baby. We really really don't want to do surgery but his reflux is getting worse again and he is still not eating. The holistic doctor did some pretty interesting things. He had me hold Sawyer and hold out my arms. He would touch Sawyer then push my arm to test for weaknesses in Sawyer. It was nuts! Some areas my arm was strong and others it just fell. He did a few little things to Sawyers T8 & 9 and said it should help to align him and help with his reflux. We have another appointment on Monday to see how its helping. Oh how I pray we can resolve his reflux naturally. To get off all the medications, help ease is pain, and get him to eat again would be a miracle!

Swim Lesson #2

This swim lesson was a little embarrassing for me. We were trying to blow bubbles in the water but I couldn't get Sawyer to do it. The teacher told me to put his mouth in the water so I did. He ended up drinking and choking on a ton of water. Next thing I knew he puked. In the pool. I was so embarrassed. I wasn't sure what to do. I told the teacher and she told the lifeguard. The guard looked a little irritated. We had to move to the larger pool (which ended up being warmer weird) and finished our lessons there. I heard people saying stuff like "why do people bring kids if they are sick" and just making dumb comments. Made me a little ticked. Oh well. They don't know his problems. I think we will chill with the bubbles for a while though.

As The Wind Blows....

Kinda sounds like a soap opera huh?! lol

Last night we had our 2nd softball game. Yes, even with the wind blowing at what, 50 miles and hour at least? We played even with the horrible wind. I was catcher and man that kinda sucked. First of all, the wind threw off our pitcher bad. 2nd, I was closer to the ground so all the stinking sand blew right in my face and ear. Thankfully I had sunglasses on or I would have been in worse trouble. My ear was full of dirt by the end and my ear was ringing. We slaughtered again though! Woot! 20 to 6! Oh yeah!

Before the game I stopped at the DI to see fi I could find Sawyer some nice dress shirts. All of his are way too small. I have to roll up the sleeves cause they are so short now. I didn't find any shirts his size but i did find 2 pairs of adorable shoes! They are the exact same shoes just one is brown and the other is black. Gotta have them all in different colors right?! I washed them and he wore em today. He loves shoes! Just like his momma! He's a little doll!

And The Surgeon Says

We went to the surgeon yesterday and he told us about the surgery. He said it would be about an hour long surgery and he would be in the hospital for probably about 4 days. He would need a feeding tube while he was there but could probably have it removed right before he left it he will eat on his own. We decided to try this last medicine before we commit to any surgery and I started him on it last night. Its called Eryped. I am hoping it wil work but if it doesn't we are going to go to another GI doctor for a second opinion and then.... go from there. Super stressful but hopefully we can get him feeling better. Here are some funny pics I took of him this week! He cracks me up!
This is him just waking up! All smiles! What a little cheese puff! I told him to smile and that's what he does! Ha! Love him!

"He Drank What????"

Here is our little sick story of what Sawyer drank on Monday.... It was a perfect beautiful day outside. It was hot enough I thought I would break out Sawyer's little pool from last year and let him splash around in it. I put warm house water in it and he loved playing in his pool. He had already had a fairly large poop that morning so I thought I was safe to take off his diaper and let him play in the nude. Again he LOVED splashing around especially in the nude. Now, he has this bad habit of drinking the water in his bath tub (EW I know) and of course he did the same thing with his pool water. I kept trying to keep him from doing it but he just kept drinking from his pool. He put rocks in his pool, grass, and even a potato bug. After a few hours of him playing, I noticed his pool had turned kinda dark.... kinda brownish. I noticed him drinking it again so I ran over and pulled him out and once he was out up floated some little brown 'logs'. He'd been drinking water in his pool that had poop in it!!! Oh yeah, I wigged out! I dumped out the water in his pool and ran him into the shower. I scrubbed him twice. Then I called Wee Care to ask what I should do about it. Thankfully they said that since he was up on all his shots he should be ok but if he started having tummy issues (diarrhea, vomiting, etc) then to bring him in. Thankfully he hasn't had any issues that I have noticed. Next time we play in the pool he will be wearing a diaper the whole time! lol

On another subject, Brandon and I went out on a date and we saw "Date Night"

Oh my goodness I loved it! I was laughing so dang hard tears were streaming down my face! Loved it!

Brandon and I also signed up for a co-ed softball team. Scary! lol I am not a great player and I get so nervous when I am up to bat. I totally panic. Last night was our first game and we slaughtered! The first inning we were 15! The end score was 19 to 9! Woot woot! Brandon even scored a homer! He's so dang hot! Watching him hit and watching those little Speedy Gonzalez legs go is awesome!

Today is going to be interesting. We take Sawyer into the surgeon at 3pm. We are going to see what he has to say and then go from there. We both don't want Sawyer to have surgery but if its necessary, what else can we do??

Weekend Specials

Had a pretty dang good weekend. Friday, hung out with Heather, an old friend from High school. We grabbed salads and headed back to her house for some hot tubing, lots of reminiscing, and a movie. It was so fun to hang out and just kinda chill and have a fun time.
Saturday, we started working on the yard and the deck. Still have a few more things to do but its coming along. We also went to our nephew's 10th birthday! Lots of fun and good food!
Sunday, we had a bbq with a bunch of our friends. We played games, ate yummy food, and shared some laughs! Its always great to get together with friends!

Oh how I love great weather, friends, food, and fun!

Kabobs, Cake, & Deck

Wednesday night, I made my first kabobs and they turned out really good! I had to have Brandon run to the store to pick up a few items and I told him to pick up pineapple. I just thought by me saying that he would automatically know to get the canned kind. I was wrong. He bought a real pineapple! It was my fault I'll admit. I should have specified the can. Thankfully, the real pineapple worked out great. Probably better than can the canned I would say. So much more sweet, juicy, and fresh. Cooking the kabobs wasn't the easiest. I wasn't expecting the sticks to burn and break off. That made it a little hard to turn them but I did it with only a few burns! :0) My friend told me that if you soak the sticks in water an hour before cooking them, they will not burn (as much anyway). Good to know! Next time I will do that! Even though the sticks broke off, they were delicious! For dessert I made a Poppy Seed Cake and it was to die for! Making that cake is very dangerous for me! I could eat the whole thing in a day and a half! Sick but so true.
Also, on Tuesday, Max came over to help Brandon fix our falling apart deck! I was so glad. Our deck looks like it could be nice but when you walked out on it, it teetered and felt like it was going to go crashing down at any second. They stabilized everything (which was so scary to watch I had to go inside cause I was afraid the deck would come down and smash Brandon under it.) so now when you walk out on it its strong and there is no longer a teetering feel! Woot! We have to do some cementing underneath the deck just to make sure the dirt doesn't slip out and cause it to become unstable again but we plan on doing that Saturday. I also want to repaint the deck Saturday. I have a lot to get done but I am so glad that its safe! Whew!
