Unwanted Guest

Last night we found out we have a very disturbing unwanted guest.... a mouse! Ew! I guess Brandon found it in some of our cupboards that are close to the ground. We started to pull stuff out of them and sure enough... little tiny mouse pellets. I wanted to heave. Brandon pulled out the dishwasher and found more poops from the dang thing. We tried to scare it out but nothing happened. The little devil(s) are sneaky. I was watching it by the door and Brandon was trying to scare it out and when nothing happened he came over to me and all the sudden FREAKED OUT! I started freaking out cause I thought it was the mouse. Apparently so did he! He knocked something off his back and thankfully it was only one of Sawyer's little magnetic letters that we put on the fridge. Pretty dang funny if you ask me. Anyway so we weren't able to find the sucker yet. When we get back from our cabin we will be putting some mouse traps around the house for sure. It sucks having a mouse in your house. You feel invaded.....makes my skin crawl.

Another Sawyer Story

Forgot to post this.... Sunday was a bad day for me. I was just all sorts of on edge and emotional. Started out with Sawyer not eating great in the morning. Then we went to church and the first speaker in sacrament talked about her mother passing away from cancer. Any type of cancer stories get me. Makes me think of my dad.... naturally. I had to step out before I started to sob and have snot all over myself. Not an attractive look. While I was out I guess Sawyer threw a big tantrum for Brandon. When I got back he was fine. Weird. After sacrament was over I wanted to have Brandon take Sawyer to nursery to see if he would do better if he dropped him off instead of me. I stayed back a ways so he wouldn't see me. Apparently he had. He started throwing a fit and trying to throw up. I went in and was going to sit with him in nursery but he did the gagging thing. I knew I needed to get to the bathroom stat. I was outside the womens restroom and BLAH..... He puked ALL over himself and me (and apparently the floor. I didn't know that until Brandon had told me later). Guess what I did... in church.... I SWORE!! Of course it wasn't empty either. There were tons of people in the hall scrambling to go to classes. I didn't think about it at the time but now looking back I am pretty embarrassed! Swearing in church.... who does that?! Meeeeee! hhahahahaha Needless to say we went home. I cleaned him and I up and put him down for a nap. That is the hard thing about church. Its right during his nap time so he is never all that happy. After I put him down, I went to go lay down myself since I was in a rotten mood. I didn't sleep. I sobbed. Brandon came in and was going to read but did something out of the ordinary. He gave me a massage! Full body massage! It was amazing! It helped relieve a lot of the tension I was carrying and calm some of my frustrations. I love it when he does stuff like that! Its the best especially when I am in one of THOSE moods! It helped a ton but I was still pretty moody the rest of the day. Sigh. Now there is a story for the books! ha!

It Amazes Me

It Amazes me to have a kid like Sawyer! I got cursed by ALL of Brandon's family and mine to have a terror child and I don't think I did. Yet anyway! He kills me. He will wake up in the morning and call my name to let me know he woke up but he will not get out of bed. He will sit in his bed and read books until I get up and tell him good morning. Then he gets up and wanders around the house but until I go in there he stays. He is not even 2 and he is sleeping in a big boy bed and stays in it. How unheard of is that?! He is so special and I feel so blessed to be his mommy!
I know I talk about Sawyer ALL the time but I can't help it. He is a good portion of my world. So deal! :)

Working On Collages

So I have seen tons of adorable collages made by wonderful bloggers and I never knew how to do it. Finally I asked my friend Kim and she told me how! Thanks Kim! I am new but what do you think of the collage header? It was fun to make! Gotta keep playing around with it tho.

1st Day of Potty Training

This is going to be a process I can already tell. Its ok tho. Eventually he will learn to go in the potty. I got Sawyer a little potty that goes on a toilet for my mom's house (since I spend a good portion of the day there) and decided today was the day to start. I pulled out his potty and he loved it! Put it on the ground and sat right on it. I took him by the hand and led him to the bathroom and asked if he wanted to try to sit on his potty. He was no thrilled about doing that and ran. I decided it may be a little early to really try to train him so I will just get him use to it. I brought him in the bathroom again and asked him to help mommy. I had him lift the toilet seat up, put his potty on the toilet seat, pull off the potty, put down the toilet seat and flush the toilet. We repeated that routine 3 more times and each time I praised him. He was happy to help with the potty process. Then I gave him some snacks as a reward. About a half hour later I did the same thing. The next time I did it he borrowed my grandma's bunny stuffed animal and helped it use the potty! It was very cute. He praised it and gave it a big hug after it was done going potty! I know he is still kinda small to be potty trained but I think just getting him use to it is key!

Our Pioneer Day

White Trash Swimming Pool!

Our next door neighbor filled up the back of his truck with water and let a few of the neighbor kids play in his "white trash swimming pool"! hahaha gotta love his creativity!

Pizza Bites!

I found a great blog to follow with awesome ideas for food its called Annies Eats! I found a recipe for Pizza Bites on it and had to try them. They were so fun to make and very tasty! They made me feel so domestic because I made the dough from scratch! Its been ages since I have done that.

They turned out great! I loved making them! While I was busy making them tho Sawyer decided he needed to check out the flour from the dough...

Yes, I let him play in it! He was curious and its always good to get a little dirty sometimes!!
These are what we got out of our garden the other day too....

I Cry The Day When I Take The Crib Down

I know I say this .... A LOT but I can't believe how fast time goes. Monday for "family night" we took down Sawyer's crib! Its nuts! It seems like yesterday I brought him home and now he is sleeping in a big boy bed.
Brandon had Sawyer help him take down the crib to help complete the transition from crib to big boy bed even tho he has been in it for two weeks. He was such a big helper!Look.... ITs a toddler room instead of a baby's room. So sad and yet its awesome at the same time!

Kids Say The Darndest Things

Sawyer got a Fire truck when he was in the hospital that he loves to play with. He also just got a new one from my mom and he loves them. Loves the lights and the noises they make. When he says "fire truck" he doesn't pronounce it quite right. It sounds more like "fire" and then the naughty "F" word! lol Quite hysterical if you ask me!

Ever Been This Tired??

Sawyer was enjoying himself coloring and eating popcorn, fruit loops, and sippin from his Dino cup. I stepped out of the room and came back to this....
I guess with me out of the kitchen it was quiet enough he could fall asleep.... quickly! I had tried twice to get him to take a nap but he refused. This nap was short lived too. Only about 15 minutes. Power nap! Such a quitie pie!

Last Weeks Happenings

Last week seemed very crazy! Nikki came into town so every second she was free I tried to spend with her. Her and I took Grandma to the zoo and met her friend and two kids there. It was pretty dang fun other than I got pooped on (Sawyer is on meds that mess him up) and Nikki's friend Regan's son Emmet puked. Sooo glamorous being a mommy! lol
Later that night Brandon and I took Sawyer to his first theater to see Despicable Me and he did so good! Sat on a booster seat eating his popcorn and sippin Sprite! We loved that show too! Very cute!

Thursday, Steven's sons came in town for a family reunion/60th wedding anniversary of Steven's parents and we had lunch Thursday morning then headed to Boondocks for a little family time. We bowled and I came in 2nd place! Yay me! After bowling we headed outside in the burning heat of the day and played miniature golf. I got 2 holes in one! That's awesome for me. We headed back home and got ready for the family dinner. We had a great time meeting family and playing some games. Friday morning we did a yummy breakfast (french toast made from french bread so delicious, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc) and then had a dinner that night. Nikki had to leave Friday night which was unfortunate but we'll see her again in September. Saturday was a big reunion and we had a great lunch and met lots and lots of family. Brandon ended up going to a movie with Steven's sons Chris and Justin while I stayed home and went to the DI with my mom. We scored big time! Got clothes for Sawyer, toys, a sandbox, and a DVD rack for me! It was great! I love the DI! My mom and I had a great chat too. It was nice spending so much time with her. She kind of opened my eyes to a few things that I am really needing at this time in my life like church and the temple. We are church goers but we do have a habit of going for a few weeks then taking a few weeks of and so on. We haven't been real great at going to the temple tho. She urged me to go to the temple even if its just to sit in the Celestial room and ponder the things in my life I am struggling with. Why I didn't think of it I will never know! lol So Sunday morning came and I decided Yes we were going to go to church. We did. Its kinda hard when you have a little one especially since our church is right at his nap time. Then going to nursery is kind of a nightmare. Sawyer freaks out. I stayed in nursery while Brandon went to class then he took over for me so I could go to Relief Society. I loved it! I felt the spirit so much and I sat there thinking Why on earth don't I come all the time?! I knew it was where I needed to be that day. It was wonderful. So I am going to make a goal to go to the temple at least once a month now and try to go to church as much as possible too. :) Quite the eventful week/weekend.

Early Morning Fishing

My brother, sister, mom, Brandon and I went fishing Today. We didn't get out as early as we had hoped but we had a good time. Didn't catch anything (other than my mom caught 4 tiny 4 inchers). We still had a great time though! It was nice and relaxing for me! I even got to read some of my book!

Lee Family Party

We had our Lee family party on Sunday and it was awesome! Great food, volleyball, playing in the sand, wonderful family memebers! c

Another Regret To Add To My List

Brandon and dad's birthday was Thursday. I did pretty good not showing how much pain I was feeling with my dad being gone.... It became almost unbearable once LK came. She brought a pool that my dad had bought last year especially for Sawyer to play in at their house. (Don't get me wrong I was SOOO SOOO happy LK came. The pool just made me think of all the many many things I didn't do and all the hundreds of regrets I have.) I never brought him over there to play in the pool. Not once. Gosh, I feel like an idiot. Why did I not do that? It was such a simple thing I could have done. Why could I not take a few hours out of my day and let my dad watch as his grandson swim in a pool he bought for him? Why was I so selfish. It makes me feel absolutely disgusted with myself at how awful I was sometimes. Yes, we had our differences but that should never had stopped me from letting him see Sawyer swim in his special pool grandpa and grandma bought him.
I remember every time I would go over there dad would always say stuff like "Look at the way Sawyer just looks through to your soul." or "Have you kissed those little baby lips yet?" I use to think he was weird when he would say things like that but now I look into Sawyers eyes and I understand what he meant. Dad could sense just how close to the veil he was. And now I also can't get enough of my baby boys kisses! He was right. All along. Wish I would have taken the time when he was here though. Its just another regret to add to my list unfortunately.

Brandon's 27th Birthday

Brandon's birthday was on Thursday and I was so paniced the entire day! I was running around trying to get everything ready for the gathering we were having. We had a great turn out. Lots of great friends and family! We ate pulled chicken sandwiches, cowboy caviar with chips, potato salad, noodle salad, and chicken salad! So dang good! After eating and cake and ice cream we played the Animal game which is the most hilarious game ever! Brandon's family was great to watch! All of them got looks of absolute horror on their face when it was their turn! So dang fun! It really turned out great!

I think everything turned out pretty great! Happy birthday to my 27 year old hubby!!
