Oh The Joys....

Oh the joys of parenting. Sawyer STILL has terrible ear infections. Its been 4 weeks since he got his first infection and they keep getting worse. I have been puked on, peed on, and pooped on at least once ever single day this week. I have very few clothes left to wear cause they have his fluids on them! He has been poked and prodded more in the last month than any poor baby I know. We've been to the doctor 5X just this month! We've been sooooo worried about him because he hasn't been active like he normally is, he isn't eating or drinking well, he's getting thinner {and he can't afford to lose weight}, and he isn't sleeping real good either. He's lost almost a pound which has me so dang worried. He's been on 3 different antibiotics and the most recent one is very hard on his little tummy and makes him vomit within a half hour of taking it. So its really not doing anything for him but making him miserable. He can't keep it down long enough for it to help. Plus, its given him terrible diarrhea. With him not drinking this is so terrifying. I do not want to have to have the doctors strap him down and put an IV in him. I think I'd go berserk! Turn into Momma Bear and that would not be pretty! Last night was terrible for us all. He was so tired yet his poor ears were hurting and that dang medicine made his tummy really upset and he vomited {all over our bed} so I decided it was time to take him in. I felt like I shouldn't wait until the morning. We took him in and they weighed him.... another 5 oz down. Ugh. I told them what he's been like and how his doctor said to try the antibiotic and if it doesn't work give him the shots. I decided the shots were going to be the best way for him to start getting better cause those antibiotics just weren't doing their job. It was horrible to have to watch the nurse put the shot in his baby leg but its been worth it. After a long sleepless night he has improved quite a bit today. He's still not drinking or eating much but he is up and moving much more than he has been the past week or so. He has to go in for another shot tonight {UGH} and then one more after that. I am praying these take care of his little ears. Its just the saddest thing to see him like this. When you look at him you can tell he is just not feeling good. His eyes have circles under them, his face is much thinner and paler than normal, and he is just so mopey. Its been a rough month. I just want him to be better and happy again. Poor little boy. Pray for him!

Salsa, Zucchini Bread, Park City & Big Bang

I had all last week off 'work' cause my mom, Steven, and gma headed up to their condo for the week so I decided to be domestic and make salsa and zucchini bread! Thankfully both turned out really really good! It was my first time making salsa by myself and zucchini bread. I felt quite domestic!
Over the weekend we headed up to Park City to stay with my mom at their condo. I have come to the decision I want to move to Park City! I love it! September is a great time to go up cause the leaves are changing colors already and it is the perfect temperature. I loved that there was a paved walkway everywhere you went. There were so many people walking, jogging, and riding there bikes it was awesome! I loved the active community feel. Anyway, my mom, Sawyer and I went to the outlet stores and did some shopping. I am so proud of myself, I didn't buy a single thing for me! However, I did buy lots of cute clothes for Sawyer! I couldn't help myself! I love Baby Gap and Carters up there! There is something so fun about buying baby clothes! Later that evening we went on the ALPINE SLIDE! Man was that ever so dang fun!
We had such a blast on the Slide! The next time we go we'll be doing the other stuff like the zipline, the coaster, and the bungie tramp! We just didn't have time to do all it but it was a blast.

Last night our favorite show started season 3.... BIG BANG THEORY! If you have not seen this show you are SERIOUSLY missing out! It is the funniest show I have ever watched! We got together with Dan & Tia and had a Big Bang Party! We are total nerds I know but it was awesome! We had pizza, buffalo wings, zucchini bread, and Black Tie Mousse cake from Olive Garden {Oh my gosh the BEST dessert EVER made!}. It was so much fun and we laughed so hard! Ah, I love it!

Its Official!

Sawyer is a walking baby!

He started walking 'officially' yesterday afternoon at my mom's house. I was watching my grandma and letting him play in the hall with his nascar when he all the sudden just stood up on his own! It was so out of the blue! He's been kinda walking here and there for a while if we help him but hasn't done it on his own! I was so thrilled and kept yelling and hugging him! I probably scared him. lol He was doing his little Mowgli walk....

walking on all 4s with his butt up in the air! It was hilarious. I've nicknamed him Mowgli! It was the cutest little 'walk'!

Sawyer also had his 12 month dr appointment today. Found out his ear infection hasn't cleared up at all so they are putting him on a different medication to help it. He got his finger pricked so they could check his iron and lead levels and the poor thing bleeds like his momma! It looked like his finger had been taken right off there was so much blood! Good bleeder. He also had to get 4 shots. Three boosters and one flu shot. Poor kid. He is finally gaining weight tho! He weighs 19lbs and is 30 inches long! Skinny boy but long! He's doing great and is very healthy minus the ear infection! I still can't believe he is 1! Its just nuts!

This Day 8 Years Ago

I remember being in high school in a cooking class when our principle came over the intercom and told us that the 2 towers in New York were hit by a plane that was taken over by terrorists. I remember fear shooting through every inch of my body. I remember saying a silent prayer for those who were in those towers and for the families who had loved ones in them. I remember how the entire country seemed to unite. There was more love, more friendliness, and more union than I ever remember there being. As time moved on it seems that the story of what happened has been flipped around and distorted but it is something I will never forget. God bless the families who lost loved ones, the men and women who gave their lives to save others, and those out serving to protect our freedoms. They will never be forgotten.

Large Cucumber & Giant Zucchini

This cucumber we let grow a bit too large. It was very bitter.
We've been trying to pawn off this giant zucchini to our friends and neighbors. No takers yet tho!

One Step @ A Time

Tia and I were playing with Sawyer last night and helping him to walk. He did such a great job! He can totally walk he just still kinda refuses to! Here are fun 'action' pictures of his walking experience last night!

Flowers & Climber Boy

When I got to my mom's house this morning, I saw these beautiful flowers sitting on her table. I asked my grandma who's they were but she didn't know. I just assumed Steven had gotten them for my mom. When Brandon came over after school he told me that he had bought them the night before but couldn't bring them home since he was on his motor cycle. I was trying to think of why he would bring me flowers..... He wasn't in trouble, it wasn't any holiday or anniversary. He did it just to be sweet! How awesome is he?! He said "I sent flowers to your work!" How sweet is he?! The flowers are gorgeous! I like to get flowers just because! Its nice! :0)

I took Sawyer to the dr this morning cause he has had this dang cold for more than a week and a half and the dr said he has a sinus infection and 2 ear infections {again}. Poor thing. So we had to start him on ammox. again. They weighed him and he is now 18 lbs 11 oz! That's better than I thought he was going to be so yay! He hates the dr tho. As soon as the dr came in he started freaking out. He ended up getting so worked up that he puked all over. Ugh. My poor baby needs to stop working himself up so much. Makes me sad when he does that. When we got home this is what I found him doing...
He climbs on absolutely everything! He is such a little stink!

Few More Pics {hehehe}

1st Hair Cut & Pictures!

I gave Sawyer his first hair cut yesterday! At first I tried having my brother hold him but he hates to be restrained. The second time I just put him in my moms sink in front of the mirror and I was able to do it very easily and quickly! I put his hair in a little envelope to put in his baby book! Ah, the memories!

He also had his 1 year old pictures done yesterday too! My sister-in-law Melanie did the pictures and did an outstanding job! So much better than I even hoped for! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures of him.....
How dang cute is this little boy?! To get more info on this marvelous photographer here is Melanies website. You will not regret using her I guarantee that!! Thank you Mel for doing these for me! I absolutely LOVE them!!
