Aluminum Foil (Interesting)

You know when you try to pull some foil out of the box and the entire roll comes out of the box? Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start all over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday, I got an email from a friend to look at the end of the Aluminum Foil box. So I went home and looked. Written on the end it said, "Press here to lock end". Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place! How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and looky there! Same thing! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this. Wasn't this suppose to be something our mother's taught us??? I can't believe its been there all this time! Who looks at the end of an aluminum foil box?! I know you're going to go and check your boxes, so go ahead!

My husband.....

Brandon was being sweet and trying to fix up my hot dog bun for lunch Saturday. I like ketchup, mustard, and relish on it. He put the ketchup and mustard on no problem. He noticed the relish on the other hand was a bit runny so he decided to shake it up a little. While he shook it the lid popped open and relish flew EVERYWHERE! All over the kitchen, behind the dog food, behind the garbage can, on the carpet in our living room, walls, table, chairs, you name it! I was in the other room changing Sawyer and I heard him yell something like Shoot. I asked if he'd spilled and he said "yeah, a little"! I didn't think much of it. I was trying to finish up and he yelled "a little help would be nice". That kinda ticked me off at first! I thought Gosh, can't he clean up his own mess? So I took grabbed Sawyer and went to go see what the problem was. I was SHOCKED! If you've ever seen that part in Daddy Daycare when that little boy comes out of the bathroom and says "I missed" and Eddie Murphy goes it to see what happened and he looks at the entire room and notices it even on the ceiling..... That's how this was! lol These pictures don't do it justice but it was a mess! Hilarious though!

I have to add these pics too. They are just too cute!

Twilightoholic

Yes, I am a Twilightoholic! I waited in line until midnight for it to come out on DVD! Sigh... I am a nerd I'll admit it! Least I wasn't a nerd alone. My mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend all went to Albertsons with me to wait for Twilight to go on DVD at midnight! It was fun. They did prizes, watched the movie, and had yummy treats! It was a fun little night out with the girls!

A Teenager's View of Heaven

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like.. 'I wowed 'em,' he later told his father, Bruce. 'It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote..' It also was the last!Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted..The Moore's framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. 'I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,' Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. 'I'm happy for Brian. I know he's in heaven. I know I'll see him.'Brian's Essay: The Room....In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was. This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at ..' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature. When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented. When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards.. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh. And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it,seemed newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands.. I could count the cards it contained on one hand. And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with meThen He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back.. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

Fun in the Sun

I have decided that when we become rich, we are going to buy a 'winter' house in Arizona! The weather down there is B E A utiful this time of the year! 70's, blue skys, and a light breeze. Ahhhhh, perfect! We went down to visit Nikki in Tucson this weekend and it was hard coming home!
On the plane to Tucson, Sawyer was a tiny bit fussy cause he was starting to get a little bit of a cold but then we gave him a bottle of juice and he calmed right down. I was worried that he was going to scream the whole time and I'd get crustied from everyone on the plane. You know how that is, a tiny plane and a screaming baby the whole way.......... makes people a little irritable! Thankfully he was good!
When Nikki saw Sawyer she couldn't believe how much he'd grown! She hasn't seen him since he was 3 months old so she was pretty shocked! The first day we got there we helped her change the locks on her house and do a few other little repairs, she helped feed Sawyer his veggies, cooked yummy potato soup (made by Brandon..... DELISH), and we played games.
Then next day we headed out to catch a Tucson Diamond Backs spring training baseball game. It was the perfect day to be outside! I didn't pay much attention to the game. I was just trying to soak up as much sun as I could!
Saturday we decided to go hiking up Sabino Canyon. It was an absolutely gorgeous hike! The scenery was amazing! So different from Utah but gorgeous in its own way. The hike was 6 miles on a paved road which was nice since we had Sawyer in a stroller. For Nikki it was a bit cool but it was nice for us Utahns!
Sunday we headed to San Xavier Mission and what a site that was! They are in the process of restoring it so half of it is white and new and the other is faded and old. They were having Mass when we got there so we walked around the mission. Out in the courtyard there was a little thing of water that said 'Holy Water' with a bucket sitting under the tap to catch the water. A lady had brought in her dog and was letting him drink out of it!! I'm not Catholic but if I were I'd be a little offended! Wish I would have taken a picture of it. It was quite interesting! Once Mass was over, we were able to go inside the chaple and look at all the intricate detailing on the walls. It was magnificent and ornate! After San Xavier's we headed to a Swap Meet. That night we just hung out and played games.
Monday was depressing! I wasn't ready to go home yet! It was nice not having to work and be able to spend time with my family! *sigh* We picked Nikki up at her work and had some lunch and played games. She was kind enough to help try to fix my hips and back before we left. So sweet of her! She took us to the airport and said goodbye which was hard. I love having her around. Can't wait until she moves to Utah!
On the flight home Sawyer was wonderful! Played quietly with some toys as we were talking off then drank some juice and floated off to sleep. Slept the entire flight! I was so glad. He was sick so I was afraid he was going to have a hard time. Such a good boy. Now we are back to reality..... *sigh* Its always hard getting back into the work routine.
Here are a bunch of pictures from our trip. Had to break it down into 3 slide shows to fit all the pictures in!

6 Months Old

Today is Sawyer's 6 month birthday! He had his 6 month doctor appointment last Friday and here are his stats:
Weight: 15.14 lbs
Height: 26 3/4 inches
Head Circumference: 17.5 inches
Percentile: 70th
He is growing perfectly! His doctor was very amazed he was already crawling! He said he is a few months early to be crawling so start baby proofing immediately! The poor baby had to get shots so he hasn't beena happy camper lately. I was so grateful to hear that he is so healthy though. Its such a blessing. We've been so fortunate to have such a healthy boy!

I love this face that he does! Kills me!

Army Crawler!

He did it! He's figured out how to army crawl! Kelly called me yesterday afternoon and was so excited I could hardly understand her! Once I understood what she was excited about I got soooo excited myself! We've been working with him every night and he's been so close to crawling for the past few weeks. We knew it wasn't going to be long until he grasped the concept! He's so smart! I am so proud of him! What a big boy he is!

He is 5 days from being 6 months old and he's learned to army crawl! Just amazes me! He had a bunch of toys laid out in front of him but didn't think any of them were worth crawling to until we busted out the remote control! Then he was alllll over it! lol What a man! ;0) Everyone tells me that once they get mobile its all over! He's going to be everywhere I can already tell!I guess I won't be leaving the dog dish down anymore! Better start baby-proofing the house!!

Baby Braxton

You never realize how big your kids are getting until you put them next to newborns! We went and saw baby Braxton for the first time last night! He was born on February 27th. He was 7lbs 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He is beautiful! Ity bity but so adorable! He has a thick brown head of hair! He has more than Sawyer does and Sawyer is almost 6 months! lol We put the two together and Braxton just looks so tiny compared to Sawyer. Its crazy, I don't remember Sawyer being that small! It seem so long ago.....

Avocado Boy

Sawyer loves avocados! I was really surprised how much he liked them! He kept reaching and opening his mouth wide everytime I would spoon some up! Brandon got to feed him solids for the first time this weekend too! He made fun of me cause when I feed Sawyer I open my mouth when he does! Funny thing is, Brandon does the same thing! hahaha
