Oooh So Sore & Sleepy

Man, I am dead today! I thought it would be 'fun' to go running with my brother last night. Wow I was so wrong! lol He totally kicked my trash. First of all, I am not a good runner. I don't have endurance to run for long periods of time and never really have. I am trying to get to a point where I am able to run say 5 miles without killing over. I've been trying to train with a friend of mine who is at the same running level I am so its be nice cause I don't usually run my brains out. Last night, however, Derik ran and ran and ran and ran and ran...... I couldn't just stop and walk cause then that would mean I am in much worse shape than he is which would severely hurt my ego! :0) So I ran.... and I ran..... and I RAN! We ran 3 miles which doesn't seem like a lot to many but for someone like me who doesn't run.... IT WAS A TON!
It felt awesome to be able to push my body past its normal limit. Somewhat liberating. I want to be a good runner. Its my new goal, my new obsession really. I want to feel good about my body again. Yes, I want the outside to look amazing (who doesn't) but I want to feel good on the inside again. While we were running last night I paid close attention to my body. I could feel my lungs expanding with every breath I took, the muscles in my calves flexing with every step, my feet pushing off the cement, the momentum of my arms, my abdominals contracting, and my heart pumping blood to every part of my body. The body is truly a magnificent thing! The way everything works together..... it just amazes me!
Running pretty much consistently like we did was very hard for me. There were a few times I wanted to give up. I had to keep finding reasons to keep my feet moving forward. The music helped keep me kinda motivated but I started thinking of reasons I wanted to run. The one that I kept repeating in my head was "I want sexy legs so I will look hot in my high heels"!! Who doesn't want to look sexy in high heels or lingerie right?! For lots of women the whole reason to workout is to look good for their spouses. That is another reason I am doing this! Gotta keep the husband happy and interested! Sounds so stupid but it totally kept ME motivated! That was the BEST torture I've had in a while!

BTW

ONLY 2 1/2 MORE DAYS UNTIL I GET TO BE HOME WITH SAWYER! YEEE-HAWWW!

Lovely Weekend

Friday, we went to Brandon's best friends wedding. We went to their sealing early in the morning at the Draper temple. What a beautiful temple! It is always so wonderful to go to a sealing. The words of the sealer were so inspirational. The memories of our own sealing came flooding back to me while we watched Jake and Melissa be sealed for time and eternity. I'm so happy for them! They make an adorable couple! Being in the temple with my eternal partner next to me brought such warmth and joy to my heart! It was a good reminder of all the promises we made to one another the day we got sealed. No until death do we part. We are together for Time and all eternity! Gives me the warm fuzzies! :0)

We saw Transformers 2:Revenge of the fallen and I liked it. I don't think it got good reviews but I thought it was decent. I really liked the soundtrack too!

Sunday, we celebrated my grandma's birthday. She is so adorable! I made her an EXTRA chocolaty cake cause she LOVES her chocolate! I tried a new recipe and it turned out really moist and tasty! I think she likes it! We gave her a gift card to go buy some clothes cause she loves her shopping and some Dove chocolates with caramel! She was a happy camper! lol She is just the cuttest thing ever! It was fun!

Here are just some cute pics from the weekend.

Daddy holding Sawyer when he first woke up.

I love how he looks when he is asleep! So peaceful.

Oh yeah, I rented Confessions of a Shopaholic and I loved it! It was totally a chic flick but it was cute!

The Prince of Pop has died.
Ok, yes he was weird but I LOVED his music and still do. 50 is such a young age. Sad.

Count Down!

Only 5 more work days until I am done! Yee haawww! I can't even wait! Its getting harder to get out of bed these last few days. I am ready to wake up with my baby and be able to be with him all day! I am so lucky can i just say. When he wakes up he is a happy camper! This morning he woke up around 6am and was just in his crib talking to himself. I finished getting ready and when I walked in he just grinned at me! It was too precious! I love that he gets so excited when I walk into his room! He's just too dang cute!
Today my supervisor has been having me call to set up interviews for my position. Kinda weird for me to be doing that. They also want me to sit in at the interviews which I don't quite understand. I am going to be gone.... why does it matter what I think? Its nuts tho. We had over 240 applications for my position. Even men are applying for it. Not to be sexist or anything but a male administrative assistant? Could be interesting! lol I've been getting all my stuff together and slowly taking things home. I have a huge cork board chuck full of pictures. It will be very sad to take those all down. My office will look so bare without them. We are having a big dutch oven potluck on my last day and I can't wait! We are having dutch oven chicken, potatoes, veggies, cobbler, and scones plus what everyone else brings! I am going to be in 7th heaven on the 1st! I'll probably gain about 10lbs too! It'll be sooo worth it tho! The guys that are making the dutch oven stuff are practically pros! Woot woot! It will be a bittersweet day. I'll be sad to leave my guys but it will be nice to be with Sawyer!
Here is a sad story from yesterday.... I had Sawyer in his car seat all ready to leave for work so I picked him up and started walking down the stairs. When you hold a baby in a car seat in front of you, you can't see anything in front of you. Well, there happened to be a 4 inch binder filled with all my millions of coupons on the stair and I stepped on it. I slid, lost my balance, dropped my phone and keys, and dropped Sawyer in the car seat. OMG! I could have died! Yes, some very naughty words came flying out of my mouth as I rushed to see if he was ok. Thankfully he was in the car seat strapped in. The car seat landed on its side and Sawyer wasn't hurt other maybe a little whiplash and shock. The poor baby had been asleep and had a rude awakening. I felt AWFUL! I wanted to punch myself! I couldn't believe I had not seen that dang binder the night before. Note to self: NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING ON THE STAIRS!! Man, what an idiot I am. I picked him up and took him out of his seat to make sure he was ok. He was screaming but I think it was mostly cause he was scared (plus I screamed the naughty words). I calmed him down and we got ready to leave again. When he was in the car he acted just fine. Happy even. I'm glad he was ok. It plagued me the rest of the day and still today. Dang that was so horrible.
On a happier note, I put on a pair of work capris that I haven't been able to fit in for 2 years! I was so thrilled! I am trying to get back into shape not just for the looks but to feel better too. My friend and I have been trying to run (which is so hard for me) and it feels great! I told her we should do a triathlon! I think it kinda freaked her out but she agreed to do it with me!! I've always wanted to do one just to say I did. Over the 4th of July, we are going to do a 5K run/walk up in Evanston with Brandon's family. I'm excited! Should be fun!
Has anyone heard of the new Tim Burton film coming out? He's going to do an Alice in Wonderland film! Guess who is in it.... You guessed it Johnny Depp. I don't know what his thing is with him but you can't find a Tim Burton film without Johnny Depp in it. I like Johnny Depp don't get me wrong but its kinda weird to have the same person in EVERY film don't cha think? maybe its just me. Here is what Johnny Depp will look like in this film....

NUTS!!! He looks like a friggin psyco! Yikes! Tim Burton is out there tho.....

So how funny are we? We got tickets to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! Yeesssss! We have seen every Harry Potter movie at the midnight showing! Call us lame I don't care. We love it! Going to the midnight showing is so much better than just seeing it opening day. People at the midnight showing are there because they are super excited about it! There is just so much more excitement in the air than just on opening day. Its a fun little thing we enjoy doing. It comes out July 15th! Can't wait!

Oh NO! Brandon Jr!!

I have to tell this story about Sawyer that happened a few weeks ago. Don't know why I haven't posted about it. Anyway, Brandon was gone canyoneering with his friends so it was just Sawyer and I. I was on the internet voting for him on KOSY.com for the Baby Idol. Sawyer was sitting right next to me and I wasn't on the computer for longer than 5 minutes. Tops. I noticed he was kinda quite so I looked over at him and he had the Benadryl bottle in his hand, lid off, sucking on the lid, and the bottle was empty! I was so worried that he had injested the medicine but thankfully he hadn't gotten any in his mouth just all over my carpet! I had PINK carpet! I took the bottle away from him and sat him away from the spill and ran to get a rag to clean up the mess. I was gone 30 seconds and he was at the computer ready to pull out our internet card (which is sooo expensive to replace and very fragile)! What a little stinker he is! He is becoming just like his daddy! We are all in trouble if he becomes like Brandon! lol

Crazy Weekend

Friday I headed over to Kelly's house to make Father's Day presents. This project took me FAR longer than I was thinking it would. I was hoping it would only take about 3 hours max. It ended up taking me 8 hours! Ugh. I didn't take many pictures but here is what I made for my dad and Brandon's Dad...They are Cake Pops! They were kinda fun and different. Lots of work tho. Brandon got off work a little early so he just came to their house. We were playing with Sawyer and having him walk between Kelly and I and he took 3 STEPS!!! It was amazing! We all kinda gasped and that made him realize he wasn't being held so he dropped to the ground! We tried getting it on film but he wouldn't do it once we got the camera. Course! It was so awesome to see. It was perfect too cause both Brandon and I were able to see his first steps! So dang cute!

Friday night we went and saw The Proposal. FABULOUS SHOW!! I LOVED IT!!I totally recommend this movie to everyone! Funny for both men and women! I'll probably go see this again! hehehe

Saturday night we decided to head up to the cabin just the three of us. Thought it would be fun to just go up and relax a little. Yeah, there was NO relaxing going on. It took me forever to put Sawyer to sleep but he finally fell asleep around 10. I went to bed around 11 and he woke up at 12. He was up the REST OF THE NIGHT! I don't know what his problem was. I tried rocking him, laying next to him, letting him cry it out and nothing worked. He cried all night long. I was going nuts! Finally around 4:30 am Brandon told me to just put him in bed with us (which I don't love doing but since I hadn't slept all night I decided I would just do it). He slept for about 2 hours then was up ready to go. AHHHHH!! I was so exhausted and it was Father's Day so I HAD to be in a good mood. I didn't pull off the good mood well! Ask Brandon! lol I ran and grabbed Brandon's Father's Day presents and got Sawyer a bottle. We all headed downstairs and I made German Pancakes. HOLY DELICIOUS! I haven't had those if ages! And they turned out really pretty! I've never made them before but man I did a good job! lol We left in the early afternoon cause Brandon wasn't feeling good and Sawyer was awfully whiny. We went home and I was so exhausted we ended up just staying home. I made Brandon some homemade chicken noodle soup and we all went to bed early. It was a rough day.

Oh yeah, funniest thing.... I was doing laundry in our living room so I could watch Sawyer and he decided to help his momma! He threw clothes out of the basket, threw clothes I had just folded, and hopped in the laundry basket! lol He was hysterical! Here is some pics of that and some other cute ones from the weekend.

He LOVES Taya! She is really good with him too. I thought with her being as old as she is she might be ornery but she is really good! Whew!

Today is also my Grandma Baird's 92nd birthday! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Just a Post

Things I WILL teach my son (not in any specific order):
1- TO SAY SORRY!! It is one of my pet peeves when people are mean or do something wrong and won't apologize. Unfortunately, my husband wasn't taught this.
2-To say please and thank you. It seems like very few people ever use these words anymore. Anyone else notice?
3- To cough/sneeze into his shirt or elbow. I am kind of a germaphobe so when I see people sneeze into their hands or cough without covering their mouth (or even use their hand to cover their mouth) it makes me ill. If you use your hand, you touch stuff and spread your germsl. If you don't cover your mouth you force people to inhale your germs. EW!
4- To wash his hands and put the toilet seat down after he goes potty. I've seen so many people walk out of the restroom without washing their hands. Come on, seriously people? Ever heard of Rotavirus or Hepatitus? Ikkk! I've caught some of my guys at work not washing their hands. I make them go back and wash them with me there! lol I'm terrible I know.
5- Pick up after himself. I'm sure this will be a difficult one but he's going to learn it. Again, this is something his father never learned. Trying to teach him but its hard to teach an old dog new tricks. ;0)
6- Money does not grow on trees. If he wants something, he's going to have to earn it.
7- School is important at every grade. I screwed up most of my elementary- high school years and I don't want him to be like me. I wish I would have tried harder and gotten better grades.
8- Being outside is so much more fun than watching tv or playing video games. Brandon and I both don't watch much tv and don't have any cable or regular chanels so I think this will be kind of easy.
9- Mommy and Daddy will love him no matter what he does and he can come to us for everything. I want him to feel comfortable telling us things even tho we may not approve sometimes.
10- I want to teach him how to cook. I enjoy cooking but it is always nice when Brandon takes a turn every once in a while! His future wife will appreciate it!

On to a different subject. My day started out on a bad foot but as the day has progressed its been quite interesting! My guys and I just spent 20 minutes trying to catch a bird that flew in to a lady's office. We aren't quite sure how it got in cause none of the windows in the building open. I was laughing my butt off watching them try to catch it! I was trying to throw my jacket on it, we tried getting it into a bag, catching it with our hands, and finally we got it with a box! I am not a huge fan of birds. They scare me but I felt bad for the poor thing. It was so beat by the time we caught it. I think it just basically decided to give up. Two of my guys took it outside so I hope the little thing lives. It was a pretty bird. What an exciting 20 minutes! Kinda made my day! I will miss this place. We have fun here some days!

Park Fun

I got off early from work yesterday so I could spend a little time with Nikki before she leaves for another 3 months. We had a BBQ and went to the park. We played some frisbee and tetherball. I forgot how fun tetherball is!! Sawyer got to do lots of swinging and he loved it! He is going to miss his aunt Nikki. We all will. Hopefully she'll be moving home soon though! Here are some fun pics of the park

Its Monday Already?

Weekends are just too short!
Just a reminder to vote for my adorable son for the BABY IDOL contest on Kosy.com! Go to this website... http://www.kosy.com/pages/baby_idol/ Click VOTE NOW. His picture is #45! Thanks!
Before I get into our weekend activities I just have to say WE PAID OF OUR CAR!! Woop Woop! I am so excited! One less payment to make every month! Feels good to officially OWN our car now!
Well, Brandon went to Butler Canyon to go do some canyoneering for his buddy's bachelor party. They headed down Friday night and hiked all day Saturday. Brandon had a lot of fun and made me want to go! They hiked, repelled, rock climbed, and had to jump into freezing cold pools!! That part didn't sound like much fun but the rest I'd love to do. I am waiting on our friend Jake to send us some video footage from their trip. Once he sends them, I'll post some.
I went out with my friends Friday night and it was a fun. I had to bring Sawyer cause I didn't have a babysitter.... Man, being the only one with a baby makes you feel kinda out of place. It was nice to see my girls tho.
Saturday, Nikki flew into town! I was so thrilled! We haven't seen her since March and Sawyer has grown a ton during those 3 months! We went bowling Saturday night and it was a riot! My grandma was our little cheerleader! She was adorable!
Here are some pictures from the weekend.

9 Month Check-Up

Sawyer had his 9 month check up this morning and here are his stats:
Height: 29 inches 75th Percentile
Weight: 16lbs 15oz 10th Percentile
He is a tall baby but kinda skinny! The doctor asked how many bottles a day and how many ounces he ate per bottle. I told him now that he is on formula he is eating about 5 or 6 bottles and 6-8 ounces each. Plus he is eating solids at least 4-5 times a day and Cherrios throughout the day. I wonder if he thought I wasn't feeding the poor baby or something. Truth is he eats like a horse!! I think he just has two hollow legs!

He has also started to say "Mama mama mama"! Hooray!

So Kosy 106.5 is having a contest to find the cutest baby. I have entered Sawyer in the contest. This is the picture I entered:

You can vote by going to this website... http://www.kosy.com/pages/baby_idol/ The voting begins June 12th. PLEASE take a few minutes and VOTE!!

Its Official

I have 3 weeks left until I will no longer be an employee of the State! I went into my boss and handed him my resignation letter. He was not very enthusiastic about me wanting to stay home with my baby but said he was happy for me but the selfish side of him was not so happy! He said they were going to miss me (which started my water works) and we are going to have to celebrate for the next 3 weeks! It will be difficult leaving my guys. I've worked here for 3 years and have spent a lot of time with them. They have become my other family kinda. I will miss them all very much. Its been a good 3 years.

9 Month Old Baby!

SAWYER IS 9 MONTHS OLD TODAY!! Its nuts! I can't believe how fast time is going! I wish it would slow down just a hair! He has his 9 month appointment on Friday and I can't wait to see how much he weighs and how tall he is! He's been such a little piggy since I switched him to formula. I think he's put on a lot of weight the past week or so. Here is a picture from when Sawyer was born and one of him now.
Its amazing how fast they grow and change. I feel like he is changing by the second. I wish I could freeze time and just keep him this age. He's so adorable. He's got 6 teeth, climbs on everything, babbles a ton, stands on his own for a few seconds, is crawling and getting into everything, gives kisses (open mouth, so cute) and he is a mommas boy! I can't wait until I am able to stay at home with him and watch him everyday! I love my Sawyerbear!

Thunder Birds Rock!

We went to the air show at HAFB Saturday and Sunday. The Thunder Birds are so amazing! We had a good time! Here's some pics..

Brandon and I also went on a date and saw Disney Pixar's "UP".
I had never even heard of it until my mom & my supervisor told me about it. I really liked it! It was cute. A little sad in the beginning but I liked it! Kid friendly show!
