You know how sometimes things happen and you just can't do anything about it? You try praying and it still happens but not as bad as it could have been? Well that's what happened to us this week. We thought we were going to get hit with a $2000+ repair on Brandon's car. That's a hefty chunk of change when you aren't expecting it. Brandon's car has been sounding/driving funny for a few weeks now so he took it in cause he thought it was a wheel bearing. They 'fixed' that problem which was $250 but the car still sounded the same. They told him it was probably the transmission going out. Our car was bought brand new off the lot. Had like 11 miles on. Is only 4 years old and is a Toyota. We never would have thought we'd have a major problem like that for quite a few years. So when we got that news we both started freaking out. Transmissions are usually around $2000+. Who has that kind of money to just fork out? I mean really?
Brandon ended up taking the car to a dealer and they said the transmission needed to be flushed and the people that fixed the wheel bearing fixed the wrong one. Who does that?! So we forked out $250 kinda for nothing. Bah. Anyway, so they repaired it today and when Brandon picked it up I called him to see if it still sounded like the back seat of an air plane and he said no! It sounded normal! Thank heaves! The dealer did charge us $650 but that is tons more digestible than $2000+!! So even though we still had to fork out more than what we would have liked I consider it a blessing. It could have been faaaaarrr worse!

Blessing of Comfort
Last night I was given a blessing by Brandon and his dad. I felt that I needed one of comfort. I've felt kind of stressed lately so thought a blessing would help easy me a bit. The blessing was great as it always is. Thank goodness my husband is worth of the Priesthood! Its been a huge blessing in my life.
This morning comes around and we said our morning prayers. Once I am finished he tells me that he felt inspired to say "you will have the understanding of what's to come" but didn't say it in my blessing for fear it meant something bad was going to happen. Uh, yeah that kinda scared me a little. But I do know that everything happens for a reason. If something does go a different way then what I want I will know that its in the Lords hands and things will always work out for the best. They usually do! Just kinda hard to accept it at first!

Organizing
With this stupid mouse invasion its making me want to clean, sanitize and organize the crap out of my house. I want to go to Walmart and buy a bunch of organizational tools but I think if I go alone I will go HOG wild and buy wayyy too much. I can't get my mind off it tho. Its like an itch I can't scratch.... kinda driving me crazy. I become obsessed with things. Can ya tell?

Unwanted Guest
Last night we found out we have a very disturbing unwanted guest.... a mouse! Ew! I guess Brandon found it in some of our cupboards that are close to the ground. We started to pull stuff out of them and sure enough... little tiny mouse pellets. I wanted to heave. Brandon pulled out the dishwasher and found more poops from the dang thing. We tried to scare it out but nothing happened. The little devil(s) are sneaky. I was watching it by the door and Brandon was trying to scare it out and when nothing happened he came over to me and all the sudden FREAKED OUT! I started freaking out cause I thought it was the mouse. Apparently so did he! He knocked something off his back and thankfully it was only one of Sawyer's little magnetic letters that we put on the fridge. Pretty dang funny if you ask me. Anyway so we weren't able to find the sucker yet. When we get back from our cabin we will be putting some mouse traps around the house for sure. It sucks having a mouse in your house. You feel invaded.....makes my skin crawl.

Another Sawyer Story
Forgot to post this.... Sunday was a bad day for me. I was just all sorts of on edge and emotional. Started out with Sawyer not eating great in the morning. Then we went to church and the first speaker in sacrament talked about her mother passing away from cancer. Any type of cancer stories get me. Makes me think of my dad.... naturally. I had to step out before I started to sob and have snot all over myself. Not an attractive look. While I was out I guess Sawyer threw a big tantrum for Brandon. When I got back he was fine. Weird. After sacrament was over I wanted to have Brandon take Sawyer to nursery to see if he would do better if he dropped him off instead of me. I stayed back a ways so he wouldn't see me. Apparently he had. He started throwing a fit and trying to throw up. I went in and was going to sit with him in nursery but he did the gagging thing. I knew I needed to get to the bathroom stat. I was outside the womens restroom and BLAH..... He puked ALL over himself and me (and apparently the floor. I didn't know that until Brandon had told me later). Guess what I did... in church.... I SWORE!! Of course it wasn't empty either. There were tons of people in the hall scrambling to go to classes. I didn't think about it at the time but now looking back I am pretty embarrassed! Swearing in church.... who does that?! Meeeeee! hhahahahaha Needless to say we went home. I cleaned him and I up and put him down for a nap. That is the hard thing about church. Its right during his nap time so he is never all that happy. After I put him down, I went to go lay down myself since I was in a rotten mood. I didn't sleep. I sobbed. Brandon came in and was going to read but did something out of the ordinary. He gave me a massage! Full body massage! It was amazing! It helped relieve a lot of the tension I was carrying and calm some of my frustrations. I love it when he does stuff like that! Its the best especially when I am in one of THOSE moods! It helped a ton but I was still pretty moody the rest of the day. Sigh. Now there is a story for the books! ha!

Working On Collages
So I have seen tons of adorable collages made by wonderful bloggers and I never knew how to do it. Finally I asked my friend Kim and she told me how! Thanks Kim! I am new but what do you think of the collage header? It was fun to make! Gotta keep playing around with it tho.

New Bed Accident/ Dentist
I woke up lats night around 2:45 to a very loud THUMP. Next thing I heard was whining from Sawyer. I rushed in the (faster than a speeding bullet. I hauled!) and found Sawyer on the floor with his head pointed at the end of his bed and his feet off away from his bed. Weird position. He had fallen off. Poor baby. I rockied him for 2 seconds then he wanted back in his bed. So glad he loves his toddler bed!!
Also, today I had a dentist appointment. I hate the dentist. I ALWAYS have something wrong with my teeth that costs lots of money and lots of time and pain. I was sooo nervous to go in today cause I haven't been in since Sawyer was about 3 months. I have been avoiding it like the plague actually! Not good I know. I totally expected the worst. When the hygienist was asking me how often I floss I told him I try at least 2Xs a day. He asked me how of I realistically floss. I say always once a day. He kinda looked at me like riiiight. Heard that before. When he started cleaning my teeth he said "wow. You are one of the few I can say is probably telling the truth about their flossing habits!!" Woot woot! That made me happy! When he was going through the X-rays I always look away. I hate seeing how awful my teeth are. But he said "I really don't see any problems." I was like right. We'll wait for the Dr. He'll tell me I need a bunch of stuff done. When he came in he said the same thing! No PROBLEMS!! That is the first time that has happened since I was probably a baby! I was stoked! Yay me! What a huge relief! Now I need to take Sawyer into the dentist. That is going to be interesting.

Thinking About My Past
I have been thinking a lot about my high school days. I had a conversation with my 16 year old niece a few days ago and I have been thinking about my high school experience ever since. I hated high school. HATED it. The only good part of it was I was with Brandon but even that was very difficult at times.
I remember for my 16th Birthday my 'friends' threw me a 'surprise' birthday party. We ended up going to some kids house that I didn't even know and just hanging out. Gradually, everyone started to disappear into another room. I was the last one to go in there and when I opened up the door, they were all smoking marijuana! I was never into drugs. Ever. They never interested me in the least. I remember I was so scared and asked at the time my 'best' friend to leave with me but she wanted to stay cause we were with a lot of 'popular' people. She was one of those people who would dump you in a heart beat for the next coolest person. Yeah, I choose good friends. Ugh. Anyway, I didn't want to stay in that kind of environment so I borrowed a girls keys and drove to my neighbors. He followed me back so I could return the car. I knocked on the window to get their attention to give back the keys and the mom or dad can't remember now, opened the window and yelled at me. I told them I was just returning some keys so I gave it to them and ran to my neighbors car and took off. I was so worried that the parent would go downstairs and catch everyone doing drugs so I was panicking all night. I didn't want to get anyone in to trouble I was just trying to get out of there.
The next Monday at school, the group that was there that night cornered me and started screaming at me. Telling me they were going to kick my butt and calling me a whore and all sorts of hateful things. Even my 'best friend' was in with them. I was scared for my life cause I knew the girl who did the most screaming had a rep for getting into fights. If it was her and I, I could have taken her but her and about 10 others?? My chances weren't as good. I kept apologizing to them but they wouldn't listen. After that my life became hell at Davis High. They spread such horrible nasty rumors about me so soon I was a loner. No one wanted to be my friend. They only person I had was Brandon. I was so confused how everything got that way. I got called a bunch of nasty names because I chose not to do drugs. That is something I have never understood to this day. **Sigh** I started ditching school so I wouldn't have to be threatened on a daily basis or be called horrible names.
When grades came out I was failing every single class. No surprise there. My mom talked to me and told me I was going to have to go to an alternative school because if I stayed at Davis I wouldn't graduate. The school I went to was Canyon Heights. It use to be for the young teens that got pregnant but the year I started turned it into an alternative school. I loved it! People there were not nearly as judgemental nor were they all about what car you drove, what clothes you wear, etc. For the first time I actually liked school. I did extra credit to make up for my 2 years at Davis that I failed and turned my grades completely around. I ended up getting a 3.95 GPA! I even talked at the graduation! I am grateful for the opportunity I had to go there. I loved the people I met and the things I learned. It helped me get through those challenging high school situations. I see my niece going through a lot of the things I did and I don't envy her. I would never go back to high school. That is something I am glad to be done with.
Its funny though, with facebook and the blogging world I have come to find a lot of the people I knew in high school. It makes me wonder why I never hung out with them. Maybe my high school days wouldn't have been so awful. It was my bad choice in friends though. Life can be funny at times. Like I said, I am glad those days are done.

Cardio X
Last night, I forced Brandon to do the P90X Cardio with me. Whew it was a lot harder than it looked. I loved it though. I love that Tony Horton {the guy that created the vids} does so many unusual exercises. It kept it fresh and fun. I was beat by the end of the video. We were sweating like pigglie wigglies! It was awesome! I am going to have to do this at least once a week from here on out!
While we did the video I was wearing my new Shape-Ups and ended up taking them off. I am not use to them yet and they threw me off balance big time! Gotta get use to them. I am going to try them while I run on the treadmill today... Hopefully I won't break my ankle! :)

My New Purchase
I did it. I bought the Sketchers Shape-Ups. I know, I know they really aren't very attractive looking but they are WAY comfy! I was amazed by how comfortable they actually were. Putting them on the first time was kinda strange. They make you kinda rock {if that makes any sense}. I have been exercising regularly and the shoes I have been wearing are very uncomfortable. I got paid for babysitting my niece and nephews so I decided Hey why not?! Even if they do look kinda weird or they don't really help tone you up at least they are comfortable. That is what is important! We'll see how well they work!

Sometimes its Hard
to be a parent. Right now is one of those times. I have a migraine and just want to curl up in my bed, block out the window so its pitch black in my bedroom, put in ear plugs, and sleep. Today, I am not a very good mom. Its been hard to be energetic for my very energetic son. I have mostly laid on the couch while I watch him play and tried to close my eyes a little here and there. Sigh. I hate these migraines.
Why?
Why is it that whenever I shave {which lately I have been trying to be better about doing it. Hey, its winter! Noone sees my legs so why do it?!} the moment I step out of the shower I get the chills and my leg hair grows? It makes it seem almost pointless to spend that much time in the shower shaving to just have it grow two seconds later! If I had the money I would go do that laser hair removal. I hate shaving. It takes SOOOO much time and like I just said it grows back the moment I step out of the blasted shower. Ugh.
