Swine Flu PREVENTION!!!

Critical Swine Flu Prevention Tip: DON'T DO THIS!!

{Come on you know its funny!}

Views on Shopping

Men and women are so completely different in their way of thinking! Example: Brandon has been wanting a certain item for quite some time and has been talking about it (rather obsessing over it) a ton lately. He told me he had looked online and found this cetain item at a store near my work. I told him we could go LOOK at it during lunch. He came picked me up and we headed to the store. The sales guy he'd talked to pulled it out and began showing us all the features it came with and explained a little bit about it. Brandon looked at me then the sales guy and said "Ok. We'll take it." I was SHOCKED! I asked the sales guy to excuse us so we could talk it over. I told him we came to just LOOK at it and not buy it. He shot back with "Why would I come to just LOOK at it if I wasn't going to get it?" See for me, I can shop around and just LOOK at things and not buy them. Brandon on the other hand isn't going to go shopping just to LOOK and not buy. He thinks thats ridiculous and pointless.
Another example: I recently blogged that I have a load of house improvements that I am excited about doing. I have been looking at ideas and shopping/looking online for decor. I told Brandon I got paid today and this was how the conversation went....
Brandon: "Yay! So I can spend money now?"
Me: "No spending money".
Brandon:"Then I guess there is no money for decor."
Me: "I can shop just not buy."
Brandon: "Your idea of shopping is very different from my own!"
That's a big Ol' DUH!! Men ARE from Mars and women are definitely from Venus!

New Toy!

Kelly sent me this picture so I had to post it!

Him with his new toy!

Need a Change....

I am one of those people who LOVE to change things around all the time! I get tired of the same old thing very easily. This is one of my little quirks Brandon has a hard time with! I am at that point right now where I don't like how my house is painted or decorated. I want to re-decorate/paint my whole house! I've got so many 'projects' I want to do that it is killin me to have to be at work for 10 hours a day when I could be at home with my baby and doing these home improvements I've got planned. I told Brandon yesterday that I have lots of projects for us to do this spring/summer... He told me not to tell him that during finals week! Oops! Sorry honey! Didn't mean to stess you out more. :0) Can't wait for this semester to be over for him. Tomorrow is his last final! Hooray! I'll be able to see my husband again!
I went to Relief Society with my mom yesterday and they discussed ways to help you improve your home through painting and decor. That just made my desire to start doing home projects that much stronger! I have a pretty nice house, it just needs a little TLC. I am going to be doing a lot of painting this summer I'm thinking! Thank goodness I love to paint! Can't wait to get started!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Yesterday was our friend Jake's 26th birthday so we headed down to surprise him. His fiance Melissa made delicious pizzas (other than Jake's anchovy pizza Who puts anchovies on pizza? Who eats anchovies at all?! lol), salad, and fruit with dip. I need the pizza recipes for sure! It was great to finally meet Melissa and to see Jake. Its been too long!

Hope you had a great birthday Jake!

Hair, Shorts, & THE FACE!

Whew was I late this morning! I set my alarm later than normal becuase I showered last night so I didn't HAVE to get up as early as I normally do. I was so thrilled to be able to sleep in an extra 20 minutes! When I woke up and looked in the mirror I was surprised to see my hair looked as if it hadn't been washed in months! It looked greasy, messy, and just gross! I had taken a shower last night with Sawyer and I remembered shampooing and conditioning my hair..... then I remembered I never washed out my conditioner! D'oh! Brandon does that a LOT and I always make fun of him. I feel like an idiot! I just got so busy playing with Sawyer and making sure he was all washed that it totally slipped my mind! Needless to say I was late to work this morning! :0)
Yesterday was such a BEAutiful day! I was so thrilled to let Sawyer wear his first pair of shorts and sandals! Soooo cute!
Sawyer has been doing the cuttest funny face lately! When he gets upset or wants something he wrinkles his little nose and puckers his little lips! My mom told me he looks so much like me when I was young when he does the FACE! Then, Derik watched him for a little while for me and said "Wow, you can finally tell he's your son!" Yay! He does have some of his momma's traits!

I love the faces kids make! They are so adorable and hilarious!

Root of ALL Evil

MONEY!
Its so devastating that something as insignificant as paper can cause so much conflict and destruction. Its unfrotunate that our happiness has become so dependant upon money. Something I want more than anything in the world right now is to be able to be a stay at home mom. The one thing holding me back.... MONEY. I have been trying to work on saving and getting things paid off so I can stay at home with Sawyer, but things always seem to come up and the money that should be going towards say our car goes to something else. Brandon and I have very differnet views on how our money should be spent and its been causing some conflict in our relationship. At times when I stop and think about the things our money goes to I feel that the adversary is close by, searching for our weaknesses and is trying to exploit them for his victory. Money seems to be our weakness Satan is trying to exploit. Satan is cunning and uses all the tools he can craft. Lately it seems Satan is tempting us with worldly wants and is trying to steer us away from our goal. I'd like to have a new laptop, or do some remodeling, get some fun toys like a motor cycle or 4-wheelers, but those are all worldly wants. I NEED to be with my son! I am missing out on so many things. I should be home teaching him, playing with him, and loving on him instead of being gone 12 hours a day and only being able to spend 2 hours with him before he goes to bed and having him be raised by his 2 grandmas (who are the best in the world and I would be completely and utterly lost without both of them! He just NEEDS his momma!) In Spurgeon on Prayer and Spiritual Warfare, Charles Spurgeon said, "There is nothing that Satan can do for his evil cause that he does not do. We may be halfhearted, but he never is. He is the very image of ceaseless industry and untiring earnestness. He will do all that can be done in the time of his permitted rage. We may be sure that he will never lose a day." I have a goal and a date set for when I want to quick working. I am going to be doing a lot of praying daily for guidance, wisdom, strength, protection, and patience to be able to make it to my goal. I wanted my son soooooooo much and now that he is here I want to be there for him through everything like I promised myself I would be. Children only have one childhood and it goes sooo quickly. I want to be there to make memories and make his childhood memorable.

Too Funny!

I got an email this morning from a friend that said:

A Wish for All of the
Difficult People in Your Life.....

OUCH could you imagine?! :0/ I thought it was too funny not to share!

So Not Fair

I keep seeing women AND men bringing their kids to work with them! When I asked my boss if I could bring in Sawyer a few days a week he told me "No". I don't think its very fair that people who work for the Supreme court can bring in their kids daily no problem but me.... My office is no where near anyone who would be disturbed and I could do all my work with him in my office. Ugh. It would have made my life a lot easier if I could just bring him in even one day a week. So not fair........

Weekend Fun

We had a fun busy weekend! Friday, I made a bunch more baby food for Sawyer and he got to try a new variety of foods!

(Eating black beans)

Saturday, we took Saywer swimming for his 1st time @ Layton Surf N Swim. He loved swimming & splashing mommy and daddy!

After swimming we headed down south to see Kade, Elisa, and new baby Kole! What a little doll he is!

Sunday, we dressed Sawyer up for church in his cute little suit! He looked adorable! I think he got his daddy's body though.... Long tourso and short legs! His pants were way too long but the shirt wasn't long enough! Still looked cute! That night we had some friends over for dinner and games. It was a good weekend!

I Feel Old!

Why is everyone growing up so fast?! My adorable niece Miss Navy Berlin is now Sweet 16 as of Sunday. I just can't believe how old all my nieces and nephews are getting. Makes me feel old! We went over to Charise's last night for some yummy cookies and ice cream to celebrate Navy's birthday. My dad was even able to come and drive himself there! I am so glad he is doing so much better. Here are some cute pics from last night....

Easter @ Goblin Valley

We had such a fun time at Goblin Valley this Easter weekend. We went hiking, played games, rode 4-wheelers and motor cycles, did an Easter egg hunt, and just had fun with the fam. Here are a few Slide shows to look at....

We had a ton of pictures so I had to break them all down into 3 slide shows. We had a wonderful time tho. Can't wait for next year!

Ahhh, A New Love!

I am now in love with Orson Gy-gi!

This is the best cooking store in Utah! Derik and I went in there and spent quite a bit of time. We were so giddy when we got in there. It was like putting two kids in a candy store! If you get a chance, I'd suggest going there! Such a neat place!

We've been working on Sawyers fine motor skills lately and he is doing great! I bought some baby biscuts, broke them down into Sawyer sized pieces and let him try to figure out how to pick it up with his tiny fingers and put it in his mouth. He's doing so good! Its so amazing to see his progress! Such a big boy!
