Weekly Update

Well nothing has really changed in the past week unfortunately. I was hoping to start dilating but he's only effaced a little bit more than he was before. My doctor said if he doesn't come this week then he will for sure take me the first week of September. He thinks the baby is going to be pretty good sized so he doesn't want me going over 39 weeks. I won't complain about that I guess. At least there is an end in sight!

This weekend was quite fun. It was Brandon's grandpa's company party up at Rockport and we went up there for dinner and the auction. They always have such fun things to auction its great! We found out that another person on Brandon's side is pregnant so now that makes 5 of us! You know what his family all does with their time! lol Least our little boy will have little ones to play with!

Other news, Brandon started school today. Yay for him! He is thrilled about going back. :) Course now that he is back I'm sure I'll have the baby anyday so he'll have to miss some of his classes just cause that's the luck we have! :/ Our friends Jeff & Vida had their baby on the 21st and he was 8 pounds 6.5 ounces and 20.5 inches long! He is beautiful! Makes me even more excited to have our little man! My dad is still doing pretty good for the most part. He has his up days and his down days. His 3rd chemo treatment is this Tuesday then he gets next week off. I'm hoping that's the week our baby comes and that my dad will feel good enough to come see him! I'll keep updating my blog to keep everyone informed about the baby. Hopefully he comes soon and on his own!

Derik's Birthday Fishing Day!

Saturday was Derik's 27th birthday! He'll love me for announcing that! :) He had the day off and decided he wanted to go fishing so my mom, Steven, Derik, Brandon, and I headed up to Rockport early Saturday morning and tried our skills there for a few hours. We had no luck. Not even a nibble!! We decided to try somewhere else and came up on a river so we decided to try it for a while. We sat on a bridge and fished off it and saw tons of fishing jumping so we thought we'd have some luck. It took us resorting to grasshoppers before we finally started to catch them. Brandon was the 1st to catch one and it was a Brown Trout and about 14 inches! The next one he hooked and let me reel in! I don't eat fish so I decided to just let it go but it was pretty close to the same size as his. Mom caught a few also but after so long they just stopped biting. Little butts. We took our two fish that we'd kept and mom cooked them up for dinner. We headed to Farminton Pond for a little night fishing and Brandon caught a tiny little 3-4 incher! That was the extent of our luck there! It was a fun day of fishing and spending time with each other though! Happy Birthday Derik!! Love ya!

1st Weekly Physical Exam

I've started my weekly visits now and will be going in every Friday can you believe it?! I can't believe how fast its coming now. My doctor said that everything is going smoothly and I am already starting to efface and he is sitting head down in my pelvis (thankfully he's head down). I haven't started to dilate yet but he thinks that I might be starting to by the end of this week! This little boy may not wait until September to come. My doctor said that if my water breaks get to the hospital immediately and if my contractions become every 3-5 minutes lasting 60-90 minutes get in there too. I am getting to the point that I am ready for him though. He's sitting on a nerve in my back so I've been having a lot of back pain but other than that and being tired I feel great! I can't wait to hold him and see who he looks like! Everyone keeps asking about what his name is going to be but we still haven't decided. We'll have to see when we see him!

Another Baby Shower!

I am so spoiled I know! I had my baby shower with Brandon's side of the family and we had a lot of fun! We played a few hard games like drinking 4 oz out of a baby bottle (so much harder than you'd think. It left cankers in my mouth!), you couldn't use the word "Baby" (hard when you are opening BABY gifts!), and we had name tags with weird names like 'Brush' and if someone called you by your real name they had to put their change in my little guys piggie bank! By then end of the party Aunt Karis & Nicole were broke! lol Thanks for the donations! I got so many wonderful things that will help me take care of my little one so thank you to all of you who came and for the wonderful gifts! I appreciate them so much! I love you all!

Dad's 1st Day of Chemo

Today was my dad's 1st day of chemo. The doctors loaded him up on anti-nausea medication to try to help ease some of the sickness he would feel. He will be going in every Tuesday for three weeks then get one week off and start again. They also are giving him calcium to help his bones.

I spent the day with my dad on Saturday and he seemed like he was his old self again! It was one of his best days that I have seen in a while! We played games, talked and watched some tv. He is starting to lose his hair now which has been really hard on him. He has always had lots of thick hair. He wears his hat to hide it but often takes it off and feels his head. I think when he does that it makes him depressed. Its heart breaking to watch. Here are a few pictures of his good day we had and a picture of his hair.

Baby Shower

I had my 1st baby shower on Saturday and my wonderful mom threw it for me! We played games, ate yummy food, chatted, and everyone watched me open gifts! One of the games we played you had to smell a 'dirty diaper' and guess what the baby had eaten! Sounds sick huh?! Don't worry it was just melted candy bars in the diapers but the looks of them were a bit realistic!
We also played a game where everyone had to guess how big around my tummy was using yarn as their measuring tape! Lets just say some people weren't very nice! I'm just kidding! It was funny! After a few games I got to open all my wonderful gifts. I am so grateful for all my friends and family! The amazing gifts they gave me are such a HUGE help to us. Without them we'd be completely unprepared. Thank you to all who came to my shower and especially my mom who put the whole thing together!! Love you all so much and I appreciate everything you have done for me!
