Angel Baby

I have an angel for a son! He has been sleeping so good this week! When I pick him up from my moms I take him home and play with him until about 8:30 then I start his nightly routine. I give him his massage for 30 minutes, put him in his pjs, feed him for about 20 minutes, take him in his bed, start his mobile, give him his binki, kiss him and close the door behind me. I get myself ready which takes about 10 minutes and he has been asleep when I go in to check on him! Not only has he been going to bed well, he's been sleeping through the night! I wake him up before I start getting ready for work to feed him then he just goes back to sleep once I lay him back down! Its so nice to wake up to my alarm at 5 a.m. instead of him crying at like 3 a.m.! I love my son! He is such a good baby! What a blessing he is!

Weekends Need To Be Longer!

This weekend was great! I got to go out for a girls night on Friday and was out until about 2:30 am! Wow so late for a mom! I don't think I will be staying out that late anymore. I still haven't been able to catch up on my sleep! I am one of those people who needs 8 hours of sleep or I don't function well. It was very fun going out with just the girls though! We ate a bunch of tasty food, talked and watched a chick flick!
Saturday we had our "Dan & Tia night"! Its become our routine. Every Saturday we hang out with them! I love it! We had hamburgers and root beer floats and played games. Its always fun to hang with them!
Sunday Brandon and Sawyer took a nap together while I took pictures of them! Man do they look so much alike! Its uncanny! After their little nap we decided to go feed the ducks at Layton park. It was pretty funny to watch Brandon try to feed the ducks. He would get all nervous and jump when they got close to his hand! I don't think Sawyer paid much attention to the ducks but enjoyed being outside looking at things! After the ducks we had dinner at my mom's and played games. It was nice to have a relaxing quite day before we had to go back to work!
Sawyer ate his first sweet potatoe yesterday too! He liked it for the most part! He also learned that when he is in his little walker that he can move it now! It was funny to watch him backing up and run into things in it!

Valentine's Day Weekend

Before I get into our Valentine's weekend, I have to tell another one of Sawyer's firsts! He got his first taste of carrots last Friday! He made some funny faces and wasn't too sure if he liked them at first but ate them up after a while!For our Valentine's this year we went up to the cabin! It was so beautiful up there and very relaxing. We got up there Friday night and Sawyer loved riding on the snowmoblie. He kept trying to look out from under his blanket to see what was going on. He didn't fuss at all. He was just facinated with his new surroundings! I bundled him up well so he stayed warm and he just looked so cute in his coat! On Valentine's Day Brandon surprised me with the game Killer Bunnies. Its a new game our friends Dan & Tia showed us we love playing. I got him a new racquetball racquet, knee pads for walleyball, and the movie The Princess Bride (we have both wanted that movie for quite a while). I got Sawyer a onesie that says "My heart belongs to mommy"! I couldn't resist!

The Thursday before Valentine's Day, I got a lovely surprise at work! Brandon sent me gorgeous flowers!

I LOVE getting flowers at work! It just makes your day so much better. Besides all the ladies that walked past my office were jealous! haha

Some other exciting news.... Sawyer got his 2nd tooth on Sunday!! I can't believe my tiny boy has two teeth already! He is just barely 5 months old! He also had his first taste of peas on Monday and doesn't really love those yet. He spit them all over Grandma Kelly yesterday! (laugh) Last night I was playing with him and he sat up on his own for longer than 5 seconds!

My baby boy is just getting too big! I love watching him grow and learn! Watching his little mind at work is so fun to watch! He is so smart and learns so fast! He is close to crawling and can't wait for that! I will have to go through all my house and get stuff up an out of reach! He'll be fun and busy once he starts crawling! Such a cute boy!

Domestication, Squash,Tooth, & Tongue!

On Saturday, I made baby food! How domestic am I?! It was my first time making it and I really enjoyed doing it! My mom helped me make it since I wasn't quite sure of what the consistency should be. We made squash, carrots, and 2 kids of sweet potatoes!

We gave him some squash for the first time and he wasn't quite sure what he thought about it. The second time he did much better at eating it instead of wearing it! lol

We noticed on Saturday that his first tooth had broke through the gums too! I was so excited! I tried taking a picture of it but he sticks his tongue out so I couldn't get a good picture. We've been waiting for about a month and a half for that tooth to come and it finally did. It was his bottom tooth and the one next to it is going to pop out any day! Don't know how much longer I am going to be nursing with those teeth coming out though! Ouch!

Sawyer's new thing is he constantly is sticking out his tongue! It is hilarious!

My mom and I are always showing him our 'tricks' with our tongues so maybe that's why he is sticking his out all the time?! Its adorable I love it!

The weekend was fun! We had so many things going on! We had our friends Dan & Tia over Saturday and Sunday for dinner (roast one night then yummy steaks the next) and we played Killer Bunnies, which I am still trying to get the hang of and we played a little Settlers of Catan and Skip Bo. Tia made delicious Molten Chocolate cakes and lemon bars! They were so delightful! Chocoholics dream come true! I found the recipe for the molten cakes on Kraft Foods and sent it to her saying I waned to try them and she made them! My taste buds thank you Tia! :0)

South Beach Diet

So my friend and I are trying to shed a few lbs before summer comes so we are trying the South Beach diet. Wow, I am shocked at how hard dieting really is. I have never been one for dieting but I decided to try it since my friend swears by it. The main foods you are suppose to eat are chicken, eggs, veggies, almonds, cheese sticks, and lots of water. All that is fine and pretty easy to do since I love all those. What's killin me is the portion sizes! lol I am one of those ladies who has a large appetite! When I go to Subway I can't eat a 6 inch sub. I get the foot long and eat all of it. Oink, Oink I know! I have been stretching the 'recommended' diet portion size a bit cause I am nursing so I still have to eat but I have toned down the sizes of my meals. Also, I have a sweet tooth and normally eat chocolate or some sort of sweet thing every day. That's been difficult to try to cut out! For example, today it was one of my co-workers birthday so they had donuts (the white powder ones which are my fav), ding dongs, and strawberry short cake rolls! I sat eating my cheese sick watching everyone else enjoy these sugary delights. Ugh! Since I am not suppose to have sugar I am craving it so bad! I think my psychy is to blame. When the word 'diet' comes up, my mind and body scream CHOCOLATE, REESES, DONUTS, and all the other tasty treats I shouldn't have. All I can say is, I better see some results from this or I'll be ticked! :0) Wish me luck!

Fun Weekend!

I kicked the weekend off on Thursday night when Sawyer and I went out with my girls for Kelli's birthday. It was so fun as usual and I got my meal for free! I found a hair in it (so sick) so they gave me a free meal! Yesss! I love when that happens!

Sawyer was surrounded by gorgeous girls and loved ever minute of it! He also got to taste his first cantelope! He loved it!

I got sawyer one of those Bumbo seats on Friday and he loves it! I do too! It will make it so much easier for him to eat now. He is already too big for most of the other seats we got him when he was a newborn! Its crazy how fast they grow!

Who ever came out with these are brilliant! I love the Bumbo seats!

On Sunday we had a few friends over to watch the Super Bowl. Well, it was pretty much only the guys who watched the game and us girls played Skip Bo (my new favorite card game). Our friends Jeff & Vida came over with their son Aiden who is 3 weeks older than Sawyer and we put them together and Sawyer pretty much attacked Aiden! He knew they are going to be good buddies the bigger they get! It was funny cause Aiden was so mild and quite and Sawyer was loud and trying to reach for Aiden the whole time! They are so cute together!

Cute little boys! They are going to have so much fun together when they get bigger!
