Updates

I seem to be falling behind the closer things get to the twins coming! So lets review the last week or so. Last week I was 35 weeks and the little boy weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces and the girl at 5 pounds 6 ounces! Our little boy is sure starting to take up all the room I'm thinking! My doctor told me that if I started having contractions every 5 minutes or my water breaks to get to the hospital. I was so thrilled to hear that cause I thought she might stop me until my actual 'due date'. So we've been trying everything to go into labor early. Has any of it worked?? Not remotely! No contractions other than Braxton Hicks. Lame. My babies just seem to love it in there. Sawyer was the same way. Little stinks! Guess its really a blessing though. They are going to be good sized! I am a little glad they haven't come though. I really don't want to miss Easter with Sawyer this year. I was horribly sick last year so I didn't get to watch him find Easter Eggs and that was so sad. I don't want to miss it this year. We are taking him on an Easter Egg hunt for Clearfield City this Saturday and I am so excited! Then we are doing some fun Easter stuff at my moms that day with Derik! Really want to be there so I will just wait the 6 more days. I can do it. Maybe not comfortably but I can do it!

We also had an interesting week with Sawyer. After we had put him down for the night, he started taking off his pajamas and his diaper and going poo-poo and pee-pee in on his floor! He did this for about a week. Then I sat him down and talked to him. Had a 'serious' conversation with him that that was NOT acceptable. He hasn't done it since thankfully! We had tried puttin him on the potty before he went to bed and tried to see if he wanted to be potty trained. Nope he doesn't! Oh well. I am not going to push him.

He's been saying "I luff you" all the time now too! Its adorable! He will lay on my tummy and just look up at me and say "I luff you mommy". Brings me to tears just about every time! When people ask him "who's in mommy's tummy?" He always replies with "Our babies!" I am so hoping and praying that he won't become horribly jealous. I hope Brandon and I are able to give him the attention that he needs even though we are going to be super busy. That is something that keeps me up at night. I don't want him to feel resentful towards the babies. We are getting him a 'Big Brother Present' from the twins so hopefully that will kind of make him excited about having siblings! We were thinking of getting him some musical instruments but the more I think about it the more the it sounds like the worst idea ever! I won't want him to play it upstairs cause I will want it to be kind of quiet when the babies are sleeping so he will probably just resent them. So we are probably going to go with some Thomas The Train stuff! Can't go wrong with Thomas! Then he can play with that while I am with the babies! Much better idea! We are also thinking about getting a small swing set! That would be nice so I can get him outside during the summer while the babies are sleeping and still have some fun but be at home with the babies. Hopefully we can find something decent and fun.

I am pretty much ready for the hospital. I was able to get going home outfits and a big brother shirt for Sawyer last week!

It wasn't exactly what I wanted but I think they will still be adorable! I can't wait to see how those outfits look on the babies! They are soooo tiny! Its going to be crazy to hold a baby that small again! Sawyer is going to look and feel like a giant once they come! There are still quite a few things I need to get done before they come. I am going to try to get a lot of it done today! I went and picked up their baby books which were ridiculously expensive ($15 a piece!! But they are adorable!). I am really mad at Davis hospital and myself for not getting Sawyer's foot prints when he was born but am bound and determined to get both of theirs. Seriously, I hate myself for not getting Sawyer's. My mom and I tried to get his by doing one of those clay footprint kit things.... didn't work so well. I still have it but every time we tried to do it he would grip the clay with his tosies or his hand so it didn't come out real well. Its all I have though. I can't wait for these little ones to come! Things are going to be insane but so much fun too!

33 Weeks

I had my 33 week appointment yesterday and the babies are huge! Well not huge but pretty darn big! The boy is 4 pounds 10 ounces (11 ounce increase in 2 weeks) and the girl is 4 pounds 8 ounces (9 ounce increase in 2 weeks)! Amazing!! I had my stress test done again and even though I am contracting still everything seems to be great!! We are still on schedule! Only 27 more days to go! Yes, I am counting down! Don't know how much more my belly can stretch and I am so darn excited to meet these two sweeties!

30 Weeks!

Hooray, I made it to 30 weeks and I am not on bed rest (yet and hopefully I won't have to be).
I am definitely getting more and more uncomfortable. I woke up today and felt as though my pelvic bone was split in half. Walking today was horrible! But I made it through the day! Bending over is becoming ridiculous, sleep almost non-existent, and energy Zero! Ah the joys of pregnancy! The good things are I love feeling the babies move constantly! I haven't started swelling too horribly yet, I am still 20 lbs lighter than I was when I had Sawyer! And I'm having 2!! lol I have been stressing out a lot lately though. I am trying to get Sawyer moved into his new room but that is not happening like I'd like. Projects keep coming up so the move keeps getting postponed. I was looking at his closet and noticed how jammed all his clothes are so decided that we should try to put in more hanging bars and cubbies in his new closet. That means another week at least of him not being moved into his new room. Kinda frustrated. I just want to be organized but am finding it so difficult to get organized no matter how hard I try. Ugh.
Something that kinda drives me nuts about being pregnant is when people come up to you and say "Oh honey, you look absolutely miserable." What do you say to that? "Well I feel absolutely miserable and now I feel about a million times worse that you pointed that out. Thank you very much for that." The people who say that are WOMEN too!! Who have had kids! What are they thinking?! You don't say crap like that. Its just not nice. Annoying. Brandon bought me a massage so I think I am going to go this week and go get it! I could use an hour pregnancy massage!!
Here is my belly photos:

Recently

I finally uploaded the pictures of my camera and there are some from Valentine's Day! Here are some cute ones I got...

We had a fun time!

Last weekend we headed up to the cabin and I brought along my mom and step-dad. I wasn't able to do much other than sit inside and read, eat, sleep, etc but my parents went on rides with Brandon and his parents and they had some fun. My mom did get a little lost one of the rides which was probably pretty traumatic but she said she still had fun. That's all that matters. Here are some cute pics from there fun ride...

Even though I wasn't able to do much it was still nice to get away and relax a bit.

Yesterday, I had my 28 week appointment and things are going well still. I still have about 20 more lbs before I get to my weight I was with Sawyer. I am hoping to not reach those 20lbs but these last few months are when the babies start packing on their weight so we'll see. The boy weighs a little over 2 1/2 pounds while the girl is just under 2 1/2 pounds. They have moved once again. Last appointment they were head down and now the girls head is on my left side and the boys head is on my right. Weird. I don't know how they still have that much room to move around. Boggles my mind. I have been having a few problems lately though. I have been getting varicose veins on my legs which are making my legs throb plus they are swelling. I told my doctor about those problems and she recommended compression socks. I tried them for the first time this morning and they are SO DANG TIGHT! I got the thigh highs and they took me about 10 minutes no joke struggling to get them on! It was nuts! I did get them on and so far they have made my legs feel better. I can deal with the feeling my legs are being suffocated for the next 2 months as longs as they don't throb like they were! I asked my doctor when we discuss the c-section date and she said that I will go in to see here in 3 weeks and we will pick the date then. I freaked out a little!! In 3 weeks I will know the birth date of my twins! That is just insane to me! I went home and told Brandon we need to get Sawyer moved in to his room this weekend and we need to put the babies cribs up and get EVERYTHING done! lol Today, I was washing walls, doors, and baseboards. I am either nesting or just freaking out! I just want to be as ready as I possibly can be..... Heaven help us!

Sawyer has been so stinking funny lately! So I have given up on potty training him but I have got him trained to bring me in a diaper when he wakes up! Yes, I really wish he was potty trained but at least he brings me his diapers! The other day he came into my room and asked me if I saw the monsters. I told him I hadn't seen them and asked him where he saw them. He said "Outside." Me: "Were they nice monsters or mean monsters?" Him: "Nice monsters." Oh good! Thankfully they were nice monsters! Some of the stuff they say is hysterical! He is adorable!

Time

I am 27 weeks. That means I only have 10 more weeks before I deliver these two babies (if everything goes well and they stay where they are). Can you say CRAYNESS?!

Also, I just wanted to post about my support belt I have been using for over a month now.

Seriously, this was the best $40 I have ever spent! Helps lift the babies off my bladder (as much as it can!) and helps keep my back supported and in line. Best thing ever!

22 Week Appointment

I had my 22 week appointment even though I am 23 weeks. The babies have moved positions completely! Both are head down right in my pelvis (which makes me have to pee constantly) and they have switched sides. Interesting how that happened in only a week! The little girl is 1lb 3 oz and the boy is 1 lb 7 oz! They are both doing excellent! When the doctor showed the heart beats Sawyer ran up to the monitor and said "My babies!" So cute! I am suppose to be drinking 1 full gallon of water a day since I have been having horrible cramping. A gallon is a TON! Talk about having to go to the bathroom constantly! I also got weighed and I have gained 13 lbs already. Ugh. That sounds like sooo much. And I will probably gain about 30+ more she says. Interesting.
I went to my first Relief Society in my ward this week and got to talk to a few other ladies who have had twins. It was so nice to get some advice from people who have been through it. I got some advice on nursing, scheduling, strollers, and a few other things that I had questions about. It was really helpful!!

23 Weeks

Here I am at 23 weeks. I am huge and its only going to get bigger!

Little Late But...

So these pics were from Christmas but just found them. Better late then never right!
I had my mom paint my belly for Christmas and Sawyer loved the idea so he got his done too!

Official!

It is now 100% official we are having a baby BOY and a baby GIRL! I asked the ultrasound tech about 5 times if she was 100% sure it was a girl and she said Absolutely! I am so excited to be getting one of each I can't even begin to explain! I would have been happy with anything but one of each is so magical! It was funny to watch and see where the babies are. The boy is sitting really low with his head at my left side of my pelvis and feet going across to the right side (and kicking my bladder) and the little girl is up above him with her head to my far right side and feet that go to about the middle of my belly. In the ultrasound we got to see the 4D and that was amazing! The little girl showed us herself pretty well but it was more difficult to see the boy. We did see that the girl wraps her leg around the boy and puts her tiny bum in his face a lot though! It was funny but at the same time I was thinking "my poor little boy!!" It was awesome to see them and hear that they are both growing very well. They are around 1 pound 3 ounces and 10 inches long. Amazing!
I have bought our little boy a few things like a blanket, a small blanket with an elephant head, and tiny little booties so I decided I wanted to get something for the girl too. I bought her an adorable and soft PINK blankie and a onesie that has a cupcake on the bum! I did buy the boy a onesie with a pirate on his bum too! I was in heaven shopping for girls clothes though! Sooo much more adorable things to choose from. I am surprised I didn't go ape and buy more. All in good time though! I am so happy to have two healthy babies and to know the sex of BOTH of them. I am so dang excited!!

Movement

Last night, Brandon and I were watching a movie in bed and I had my hand on my belly as usual. All the sudden I felt a little kick! I wasn't sure so I waited and felt another and another! I was hoping it wasnt all in my head so I grabbed Brandon's hand and he felt them kicking! He was able to feel them for the first time last night! Oh how I love this part of pregnancy! It becomes so real once you can start to feel them. My mother-in-law told me to remember this moment when I am so excited cause in a few months I won't be as thrilled about it! lol Its probably true but I still love to feel the movements!

18 Week Appointment

Had my 18 week appointment yesterday and we think we know what the other baby is but my doctor still isn't 100%. She thinks its a girl. The baby showed us a good shot of herself and none of us saw boy parts but she said when I get my BIG ultrasound they will be able to tell me for sure what it is. Bah. I wish I knew 100% right now. I am going to say its a girl until i hear other wise. I won't be upset if its another boy though. I'll be happy with whatever I am given!
Good news, I have started to gain some weight! Yay! I probably won't be saying that long but right now its good! The doctor asked if I could feel the babies moving around and I can't really and she was surprised. She thinks that my placenta is in the front of my belly and that is why I can't feel them yet but they were sure moving a ton! She said within a few weeks I should start to feel them more and more. I can't wait for that! It always make me nervous to go into the doctor cause I felt them for a while then I couldn't anymore so I always panic and think there are problems. Nope! They are growing well and they are both 8 ounces! My targeted ultrasound is schedule for January 13th and that is where they do all the checking and measuring and in 4D! My doctor said we will know for sure when we do that ultrasound what they both are. Wish I didn't have to wait that long but its how the cookie is crumbling! Things are going well still so I am so grateful!

Concerns

I called my doctor yesterday with a few concerns of mine with the pregnancy and didn't love the response I got back. First of all, I have had major major charlie horse cramps in my right side the last 2 weeks or so. Just about every night and they wake me up. Seems like no matter how I stretch they don't go away. Real pain in the side. So my doctor said to eat more bananas. Well DUHH!! Been doing that ever since I started having the problem and its not helping. So she said it is probably because I was so sick before and unable to retain many nutrients that the babies have taken all the potassium and calcium from my body. Lil' stinkers. Thankfully, I am able to take my prenatal vitamins now without being horribly sick so hopefully that will help along with eating a little more balanced high potassium/calcium diet. That particular concern wasn't anything too major. The other concern I have been having is that my heart seems to race all of the sudden when I am doing absolutely nothing and after it slows to a 'normal' pace again I feel completely drained. I told her about that and she was much more concerned about that. She said I need to start monitoring my heart rate when it starts to accelerate and if it goes over 120/minute for longer than about 5-10 minutes I will need to be seen by a cardiologist. FREAKY! Babies sure take a lot out of the body! lol Hopefully everything stays normal and I am just overreacting. (crossing fingers)
Other than those few little things I am feeling better! Haven't vomited in over 2 weeks and all 3 Thanksgiving dinners stayed down! Yay! I am going to have to take another picture of my belly cause in the past month I have doubled in size! lol I know I have 2 babies in there so I should expect it but it is still nuts!

Thanksgiving this year was interesting. I was very VERY moody. Holidays are hard since my dad isn't here. It seems to always bring a heavy cloud when I think about him not being here. I know he wouldn't want to any of us to be sad but at times is difficult. On Thanksgiving Brandon, Sawyer, And I went and saw Tangles. LOOOOVED this movie! So dang cute! Probalby one of the best animated shows we have seen in theaters in a while. I will definitely be buying it when it comes out!
This week has been busy! I decided to try to go shopping Thanksgiving night but ended up going home about an hour later cause it just was too crazy to be worth it. So instead I went shopping for three hours this week and got about 90% of my shopping done! Awesomeness! I still have a few other little things to get but most everyone is taken care of. Gotta love being done early. I also went and saw Burlesque this week. Wow! I loved that show! Didn't expect to but I was shocked at how much I loved it! The music was awesome, the dancing was great and I didn't even mind Cher being in it or the fact that Christina couldn't act a bit. Going to be buying that movie and probably the sound track as well! Wanna go see that again Saturday!

Sawyer got a black eye this week. He was running away from grandpa Max and of course wasn't watching where he was going and smacked right into the corner of the pool table. BIG OWIE! Left quite a mark but thankfully it is only a brusie and not split open. He has been so funny lately. His talking is improving so much that sometimes is surprises me! He has also been saying "My mommy." or "My daddy." its so dang cute! Potty training is still a mess though! He is at least starting to tell me when he goes potty. Its after the fact but still he will come tell me. His reflux has been kept in check for the past little while which still amazes me. Now that I have said that he will probably wake up with reflux tonight but that's just how it goes! lol His eating has been horrid though. It seems like he just doesn't want to take the time to eat. He's just too busy! Stinker. He has also learned out to open our bedroom door! He is a nightmare to put down at night now that he knows he can get out of his bed. He opens and shuts his door a million times and if we shut our door he will do the same things to our door. I try so hard not to laugh but its just funny sometimes! The day after Thanksgiving we headed to the cabin and it snowed a ton so we were able to make a sledding track and do some sledding. Well, it was more everyone else was sledding while I was standing around taking pictures! Sawyer loved it though!

He sure loves the snow!

Ultrasounds

This first one is the one I had at 10 weeks. Look how tiny the babies were!

The second is the one I had at 14 (almost 15) weeks. What a difference a month does for these little guys!

14 Week Appointment

I had my 14 week appointment on Friday and we were able to find out the sex of ONE of the babies. We are having ourselves another sweet and precious boy! I can't even wait! Sawyer will have a little buddy to rough up! Oh it makes my heart sing! I wish the other little stinker pot of a baby would have showed us their goods so I could do the rest of the planning but alas, it is a mystery! Hopefully by the time we go in next month we will be able to see the one on top! It was pretty funny cause our little boy was very open about showing us his goods! He was like "Hey mom! Here I am!!! In all my glory!" Sawyer was the same way! I am going to try to find a way to post the ultrasound video cause its really amazing how much they have grown and just to see them! The human body is truly amazing!

Nutrition Or Lack There Of

So I am 13 weeks pregnant and I am STILL sicker than a darn dog. These babies of ours just don't seem to like anything but crap even then they don't like it. Everything healthy that I try to get down (it is hard to eat healthy cause nothing sounds good) always end up in the toilet or on the side of the road. Blah. I am honestly thinking the babies don't want any outside nutrition and just want to suck it from me until there is nothing left of me! lol I have lost 6lbs this pregnancy this far and I am truly hoping I will stop losing and gain maybe a little back for the babies sake. I did learn last night and tonight that they do like steak and A1! I was able to eat that these two nights (and absolutely LOVE it!!) and keep it down! After being able to keep it down last night and enjoying the heck out of it I sent Brandon to the store to get more steaks! I have one for each night of the week!!! Hoo-raw! Just hope I don't run out of A1..... That would be all sorts of bad news.
My next doctor appointment is on the 19th and I can't even wait! The nurse said that if the babies cooperate we could find out what sex they are! How friggin fantastic would that be?! I can't wait to start kind of buying a few little items for them! And if we find out before Thanksgiving I can hopefully find some awesome deals on Black Friday!! Woot Woot! Excitement!
Here is a picture of my growing belly.
I was 12 weeks and 3 days.
This weekend Brandon went through out food storage and got rid of tons and tons of food. What a sad sight that was. It is almost painful to have to just throw away food. Such a waste. Now we are writing everything we have so we will know what we have, when it expires, and when we will need more. While Brandon was doing this I tried to work on the computer room. Finished the filing so we can get rid of our monstrous filing cabinet and hopefully this week we can move the computer downstairs and start working on Sawyer's new big boy room!! That is my goal anyway. I am still looking for him a new bed. I thought I wanted just another toddler bed but think I am going to get him a twin bed since he is almost too big for his toddler bed already but it would work out great to use at grandma's house. Found a headboard but not a bed frame.
On the potty front I feel almost defeated some days. Potty training is tough! I wasn't expecting him to be potty trained over night or anything but I was hoping after a few weeks of repetitive potty going he would start to get the hang of it. Not so much. I still take him to the potty every hour (and I am pretty darn good at doing it every hour not perfect but good) and yet his pull-ups are always wet. Every time. He even still goes #2 in them which is the worst!! I try to watch him so when he does the hiding and grunting I rush him to the toilet but I haven't been able to get him there in time a lot recently. He never tells me he needs to go. When does that kick in? When I first started potty training I just got him some regular big boy underpants but they don't catch anything so he was urinating on the floor.... a lot. So I went to pull-ups. Bad thing about these is I think they make him think he is just in a diaper so it doesn't matter if he goes potty in them. My friend Camie gave me a pair of padded training pants. They are just like regular underpants but have padding in the crotch area so it helps catch the urine so it doesn't get all over. I tried looking for some at the stores but noone seems to sell them so I ordered some online. I am hoping that that helps him to realize going potty in them is a no no. Keeping my fingers crossed!

The 1st Touch

I had a wonderful experience this morning. I woke up when Brandon's alarm went off so after he left I decided to be lazy and just lay in bed. I rolled on my side and began to pet Taya when I felt some pushing in the middle upper half of my tummy. I brought my hand to where I felt the tightening and felt something hard. As I explored it more I noticed it was a round hard spot and suddenly it dawned on me that it was one of my babies heads!! I got so excited so I lightly pushed on it to see if it would move and it just kinda fluttered a bit. I started feeling the rest of my tummy and went along the side and felt something hard that was about 4 or so inches. I think it was the other babies back!! Then they just slowly moved to behind my belly button and around! It was so awesome!! I've had kind of a hard time with this pregnancy so far cause I have been really sick but feeling my babies with my hand made me completely forget about any of the bad things!! So amazing!

Nuchal Translucency Study

I went and had another ultrasound done yesterday! Got to see my little bugs movin like crazy! I went in so I could get the Nuchal Translucency Study done. What this is is a new way to detect downs syndrome, T-18, and other birth defects and it is a safer way than Amniocentesis. What amniocentesis is is a procedure where they basically stick a needle through your bellybutton remove some of the amniotic fluid and do test to check for downs and other defects. This new way of doing it is more accurate and is less harmful to the mother and the babies. Amniocentesis can actually cause a woman to go into labor and lose her baby. So for me now that I am having 2 instead of just one I took the opportunity to get the test done and make sure there were no problems with our bundles. Wonderfully enough they are doing great! No signs of any defects or problems. Hearts, brains, and bodies look completely normal and healthy! I even got to see one of them doing flips! Literally doing flips! So crazy and wonderful at the same time! Even from one week ago you can see a huge difference in their size! They are already bigger! It amazes me!

We're Having How Many???

So here is our lovely story of how we found out about our little BUNS in my oven!

When I found out I was pregnant it was September 10th, the day after Sawyer's 2nd Birthday. I went to the doctor who delivered Sawyer when I was about 7 weeks along. He didn't do an ultrasound or anything. Basically just did a normal pap exam and told me "Yup, you're pregnant." Wa-friggin-who. I talked to a bunch of my friends and quite a few of them told me about this one place in Ogden that does an ultrasound every time you go. I loved the sound of that! So I went to the new OB on the 18th. Got to the new OB (a woman which I have never been to a woman before ever) and she talked to me asked questions like if I wanted to do another c-section or try vbac I said I wanted to try a VBAC. She said ok. She told me to lay on the table and we'd do an ultrasound. I hoped up lifted my shirt up and she put the cold jelly stuff on my belly. Within only about 2 seconds of having the thinger on my tummy she said "so how do you feel about twins?" I was completely shocked. She said "I never joke about twins". I of course said "Are you kidding me?" She again repeated that she never jokes about twins. I started to cry. Brandon started laughing! I was so terrified at that moment. I couldn't even believe it. She said with twins I'd have to be monitored a lot more often and there was NO doing a VBAC. So much for wanting to experience labor. She moved the device around my tummy and showed us our babies. One was sleeping and the other was moving all over the place. Both measured 10 weeks so we are on schedule. The great thing about this new place is they do an ultrasound every time and record it so you can watch as the babies progress. I love that. So we left there feeling very shocked and overwhelmed. I immediately called Nikki and told her the news. She was as speechless as I was. She said she has been joking with Derik about it just the night before. They cursed me! lol We had to go pick up Brandon's car at Max and Kelly's so we headed that way. I was freaking out in the car. I texted my mom and told her to go over to Kelly's house. When I walked in they could tell I had been crying so of course they assumed the worst. I had to wait for Brandon to get inside before I could tell them the news. When I told them I started to cry again and they cried tears of joy! We sat around talking for a while about what we need to do and get then Brandon and I decided it was time to go home. ON the way home I started calling tons of people! lol I know I am not suppose to tell anyone until I am 12 weeks but this is HUGE news! HUGE!

When we got home I sat next to Brandon with my head on his chest and asked him how he was not freaking out. He said "What would that accomplish?" I said I don't know but I am doing it. And he returned with "And is it doing any good?" No but it was making me feel better. I told him he couldn't freak out in front of me or I'd lose it. I need him to be the stronger person for this. I can't be. Not able to. Later that night Dan and Tia came over so I could show Tia the babies video! I look at the ultrasound video just about everyday. It still seems surreal. I think its my dad's last little trick!! :) Now that things have had a little time to sink in, I am getting very excited! I know how huge this is and how challenging it will be, but I have two mom's who will be there to help if I need it, a brother, and friends. Things will work out. I do wish my dad was here to share in the joy though. He would have been absolutely ecstatic at the news! Makes me miss him so much.
So that is how we found out our great news! Now we have the challenge of getting Sawyer potty trained hopefully by no later than December and getting him in his new room by then as well. I am so excited for his new room! Its going to be decorated in motorcycles!! He'll love it!
