Drama @ Work

So I decorated my boss's office yesterday cause he is turning the big 50. It took me 2 hours plus the decorations I got, I bought with MY own money. I was so excited to see his reaction. When I came in this morning, I didn't get the reaction I thought I was going to get.
When I walked to my office this morning I noticed my door was locked, which it never is cause him or my supervisor always unlock my door in the mornings for me. I peeked in his office and noticed all the 75 black balloons I'd blow up and left all over his office were gone. I was a little upset by that but didn't think much of it. I went and unlocked my office to find this....

This is MY office and all of HIS balloons.
I thought he was just being funny so I started putting them all back in his office. I was nearly done when he came up and said "No! Get those out of there."
I replied with "But they miss their home!" (trying to be funny)
He then proceeded to tell me he didn't want them in there and to get them all cleaned up. My eyes started to water because Hey, I had put a lot of work into his office to show him someone was thinking of him on his brithday. I didn't want to break down right in front of him so I went to the ladies room and called Brandon. I was so hurt. Normally, my boss is very sweet to me so I was flabbergasted at his reaction. I went into our shop and told one of my co-workers (he helped decorate) how he'd gotten so upset with me. He was shocked too.
I headed back up to my office and was just waiting for him to come down on me about it. He came in and told me he liked the ceiling but hated the black balloons, RIP sign, and wheel chair (yeah we got him a wheel chair! Glad I didn't by diapers like I wanted too. I'd have been fired). I told him I would clean it up if wanted me to. He said he was going to have one of our guys come pick up all the balloons and throw them in the trash.
Lesson learned: NEVER DECORATE YOUR BOSS'S OFFICE!!
I had so many compliments on his office. I thought I did a pretty decent job for not having a lot to work with. Guess I was wrong. Here's some pictures of what it looked like.....

The last picture of with him and I.... I had to FORCE him to take it with me. He REALLY felt like beating me with that cane too. Makes me sad that things turned out this way. Won't be doing anything like again.
